I am an avid romance novel reader , average 3 books a week. This series is by far one of my favorites. I do not pass out 5 star reviews out like it is candy. But for this series I would give 6 stars if I could.
Grab a glass of wine sit back and enjoy reading the journey of Jackson and Leila. And watch their Career and Relationship grow from infantile stage to full blossom love story that most of us would envy. They are loving and nurturing kindred spirits that shares the same passion for music and career success. . They are both the product of a positive healthy upbringing. They are surrounded by a strong support of loving family and friends. In which reflects in the quality of their relationship and their ability to love so full and without boundaries. . The depth of their love is bond, they are two souls who move as one unit.
By far one of the best character development of all romance series I have read. You will absolutely fall in love with not only Jackson and Leila but you will love the supporting characters as well. Trey is hilarious, Hunter is so silly, yet has a heart of gold. The humor is off the charts, they had me cracking up. I enjoyed this series so much, it was hard saying goodbye to the characters. Therefore I read the series 2X, which is a rarity for me. Madden did not disappoint, Jackson and Leila story was complete. You walked away from the series fulfilled. You did not feel like the author left you hanging.
My compliments to A M Madden , you are my new best friend. next to Samantha Towle. I will continue to read your work
I enjoyed the development of the characters in the story first getting to know Leila and her band Cliffhangers. Leila is an amazing singer who wants to become a famous rock star. She learns about an audition for a back up singer for an up and coming band called Devil's Lair. She is familiar with the band and has a major crush on the lead singer. Patti, the girlfriend of one of the band members is able to set up an audition for her to try out for the band.
Leila sings for the band and they find that she has an amazing voice and they feel that her voice would compliment the lead singer's voice and that she would be an asset to the group. She signs a contract to tour with the band and is flustered by the fact that she will be sharing the mic with the hot, sexy, and womanizing lead singer Jack. The band members, four guys and Leila, will be sharing one of the buses while the roadies and some other necessary people will be sharing a second bus.
Before the band starts their tour they have several months that they need to rehearse and have Leila's voice added to their songs. During this time, we get a sense of the attraction that is building between Leila and Jack and wonder how these budding feelings will affect the band and their futures. What will happen if they start feeling the rewards of success and the problems that can occur on their way as well.
This book is something that you can relate to with the blossoming feelings sexual tension, work stress and family issues. You'll enjoy the banter, friendships, romance and hot sex.
I recommend this book it is a great read.

And then other authors have followed with 'similar' story lines. This was one of them. The difference is that while the 'Thoughtless trilogy' was a phenomenal success, this one kind of dragged; and it was only the first book. I wasn't pulled into the story in the way that I was while reading about Kellan and his band's journey from their humble beginnings to their HEA.
THIS book was repetitive after the initial introduction of the characters. I did stay with it to the end, but a lot of the details and incidents felt like non-events. I didn't feel like I would want to read it again. Nothing much happened and the personal interactions between the two main protagonists consisted of repetitive internal tussle in the first half of the book and then repetitive bed scenes in the second. Leila - what can I say about her? She was in a perpetual state of 'sexual excitement' over Jack. It was cringing to read about certain parts of her anatomy in a constant state of "clenching". She was always 'horny' with her 'clenching crotch'. If it was Jack's body parts that were described to be in a constant state of arousal, it would have been cringing enough to read; but when the "clenching crotch" characterized the semi-permanent state of things for the FEMALE lead, it made her come across as being addicted to sex - although it was meant to be a case of her being turned on by the 'hero' in the story. But really? EVERY instance that he was near, her 'crotch' would leap into overdrive? THAT alone took the 'classy' out of the story. Soon, her every fixated preoccupation with the state of her 'crotch' was all that I could associate with this 'heroine'. I am in no hurry to follow these characters into the next stage of their story, not if the first book is the forerunner of things to come. I really can't take to a heroine whose "crotch" actually featured even more conspicuously than that of the 'hero'. Not sexy or romantic.
Kiera and Kellan were a sexy couple who fired my imagination as I followed them through their tumultuous beginning to their HEA.. I got a sense of who they were as a couple who met, fell in love and had to work through many issues to sustain their love. From the first book in their journey I was able to 'get' the romance of their love as well as the romance of Kellan's rock band.
I didn't get that from this other 'rock band' story. It fell flat for me.
Jack is what you would probably describe as a typical rock star in terms of the way he is with women. Hard to resist and sexy as hell, he has women throwing themselves at him and he takes what is on offer very often. However that changes when Leila comes into his life and turns it upside down.
Leila fangirls over Jack and becomes a bumbling, accident prone wreck around him. Falling instantly for him, his smile and his dimples, she is reluctant to give into her feelings given his reputation. But she manages to bring out his caring side and it is this that wins him over.
I'm loving the characters of Devil's Lair: colourful and charismatic. I am looking forward to seeing where their journey takes them next given the revelations at the end of this story.
Rock band Devils Lair is looking for a back up Singer to record and Tour with them due to their upcoming newfound success.
Leila Marino is already a singer and in a Band in her hometown, they are a good Band but Leila has always dreamt of a singing career for herself, a golden opportunity arises for her and she auditions with the Rock Band Devils Lair (one of her favourite Bands) Leila is a bit of a klutz and little awestruck around the Band and fancying the Lead Singer is going to keep her on her toes. Jack Lair, lead singer and Manwhore extraordinaire, any girl anywhere anytime, he is one hell of a guy until the Audition where he meets Leila and from then on every girl he has sex with he can only picture Leila in his mind and the long road ahead finds the two of them eventually coming together, and sharing their fears. hopes and dreams.
This book had me hooked after the first couple of chapters (I wasn't overly impressed with Jack being such a Man whore) but eventually got over that and thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was a truly amazing read and cant wait for book 2.
Considering this is a 1st book by this Author It had me totally engrossed, all character's in this book were so well written and I could sorta relate to them, I loved reading about Leila's Family and how close she was with her Dad, and her Band members and her really good friends.
well done, looking forward to reading more from this Author.
To start Lelia is a leading lady that is right up my street and I completely understand where she comes from and why she is the way she is. Then we meet Jack Lair and OMG what a rock star he is. I fell in love with him straightaway and so was routing for them from the beginning. I absolutely adore Jack's possessive nature toward Leila and his unwavering devotion to her despite the obstacles that they have to face.
I would highly recommend this series to anyone and challenge them not to fall for Jack Lair.
