Classic Fishburne and Barkin

I had been waiting on this to come out on bluray, I couldn't wait. This was a great movie, a lot of backstabbing and sneaky crap going on. I had it on dvd but you know, had to upgrade. This is wayyyy better than that other movie that came out with Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins with the same title. Buy this one instead.

Who can you trust?

The performance by each of the three leading actors: Ellen Barkin, Laurence Fishburne and Frank Langella was excellent. The story was well written with lots of drama and suspense. It's one of those movies that you can enjoy from start to finish. The supporting cast was excellent as well.

Great Suspenseful Movie

I actually saw this movie when it came out in 1995. I loved it then. I watched it again because although I remembered some of what had gone on, there were things I had forgotten and realized that when I saw it initially, I had missed some really important parts. Ellen Barkin is electric in her role. She is an outstanding actress and Laurence Fishburne was as stated in the movie, "a nasty piece of work." Really great acting on his part as well. It is worth watching and there are very few movies that I watch more than once.

Different Take on Black Ops

I enjoyed this film when I first saw it and was glad to see it finally available on DVD. I liked how the Operators were portrayed as behind the scenes manipulators and not the James Bond Action guys that Hollywood loves so much. Working for money as opposed to ideals, the clients are not sympathetic souls but abhorrent heads of business who need someone to keep them from paying the price for their transgressions and will pay well for it. The side plot of Fishburne actually still working for the Agency while acting as a "disgraced agent" looking for employment with the Toolshed was nice. There are no good guys in this film. The Closest thing to one is the girlfriend of David Ogden Stiers whose innocence makes her less hateful than the rest. The mucic score is Tremendous and I wish I could find the soundtrack to this film. Great jazz score that compliments the mood of the film to a "T". A nice depiction of how International Spying crosses over to Industrial Spying...although spying is not what these guys do. Very cool anyway. I would recommend it if you are into more than explosions, hand to hand combat and CGI.
