I will confess, I ordered this book because it was the cheapest out of the others except for the first one (we already read that one and LOVED IT).
This one was excellent for my 2nd graders to teach them how to read out loud like the character is speaking because the author uses different print features (all capitals to show yelling, small text to show whispering, etc).
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it had words like “butt” and “stupid” and a lot of my students were uncomfortable saying them. But I explained that you can just change it into a synonym (which turned into a great review).
This is a FANTASTIC series to get a hesitant reader to begin reading!
Do I like this book? I DO!
I’m named Emmy. I’m 5 years old, but you already read that.
So, what do you say when you read your books?
What a mystery! This book was fun, fun, FUN!
My favorite part was when the alien said it’s name and it had such a weird weird weird name.
That book is done, but my fun is still not done. My dad will read my the next one tomorrow night... dinosaurs were a long time ago & 2000 miles away, so we will see what happens in the next book.
The last thing I want to say is that Shark is dark. Bye!”
