They were both excited to start the books. One turned to me after opening the present and said “you want me to read a chapter book?!”
Fast forward to reading at home with a some help from mom. Turns out they both love these books! The books are pretty thick and worth the price. Will definitely be purchasing the rest of the series.
Will even be passing the book onto my nine year old nephew who has dyslexia and is just learning to read- the pages and text are not too overwhelming and will update my review with his experience of the book.
Something to note, there are some butt jokes, which some parents may not like, but I assure you they hear worse in daycare and school. The book series focuses on being a better person.
Would recommend for kids who are transitioning to chapter books, who love to read, who love to laugh, or if you’re looking for a nighttime book to read with your kiddos.

Haven't met a child yet that doesn't love this series of books!
I haven't seen the movie that came out with them, but I hear there is even a sequel to it. Good for them! I plan to go see this first movie as I read it got 98% Rotten Tomatoes reward.
We all struggle in life with doing good--and kids love that these Bad Guys do, too.
I keep buying these books for kids I know and kids I work with. A little joy for kids now days is a VERY good thing!
He finished it in one day (he was 7 then). This is a big deal!! He counted down the days until the 2nd book came out. He actually received it the day it released BUT he wanted to wait until the next day so he could read it in one day again 😂
He now wants to be an author & illustrator.
Wish they had a shorter, full color version for 4-5 year olds!

A bit weird there are no females in the world the author imagined?
