"The Good Egg" was my first experience with Jory John's "The Bad Seed" series, and I've been adding them to "Mama's Favourites" in our kiddos' home library ever since.

The art by Pete Oswald is full of personality and so fun to look at that I'm sure your little ones will enjoy flipping through themselves even if they can't read it yet. The lesson at the end is not preachy, but a good reminder that we all can be a little selfish sometimes, and in the Seed's words: "I just needed somebody to talk some sense into me."

And it's funny, y'all (c'mon, the seeds dressed up as the "Seedles" - that's awesome), so it's one of those children's books that is meant to be amusing to the parents, too. Cuz let's be honest here, there are some children's books that are either boring or annoying AF to read over and over and over...until you hide the book for a little break.

There's also a cute reference to "The Good Egg" - which you should definitely get if you haven't already.
