The Bad Sister (Family Secrets Book 2) Kindle Edition
The site of the old campus bungalow where two girls were brutally slain is now a flower patch covered with chrysanthemums. It’s been fifty years since the Immaculate Conception Murders. Three more students and a teacher were killed in a sickening spree that many have forgotten. But there is one person who knows every twisted detail. . . .
Hannah O’Rourke and her volatile half-sister, Eden, have little in common except a parent. Yet they’ve ended up at the same small college outside Chicago, sharing a bungalow with another girl. Hannah isn’t thrilled—nor can she shake the feeling that she’s being watched. And her journalism professor, Ellie Goodwin, keeps delving into Hannah and Eden’s newsworthy past. . . .
When Hannah and Eden’s arrival coincides with a spate of mysterious deaths, Ellie knows it’s more than a fluke. A copycat is recreating those long-ago murders. Neither the police nor the school will accept the horrific truth. And the more Ellie discovers, the more she’s convinced that she won’t live to be believed. . . .

So I didn’t like this book that much. Buy a used copy and don’t waste your money on a brand new copy.
This book centers on two sisters who found out about each other later in life - they have to get used to the idea of sharing a family and being sisters as well as finding out how to share their dad's love...they go to college and that is when the story really begins.
There is lots of non-stop drama, action and excitement in this one and the reader thinks that they have things figured out, only to be fooled by the author and another twist of events. The reader will race through this one trying to figure out what is going to happen next, only to be surprised by something and then the plot takes on a whole new direction.
Another win by this author and I am already looking forward to his next book! Add this to your TBR list and move it to the top - you won't want to miss out on this one!
I enjoyed this book in which two half sisters with little in common but notoriety go off to college together, the recipients of full scholarships thanks to a corporate sponsor. Why they were chosen becomes readily apparent early on. Moreover, adding to unease, is the fact that the college was the site of a murder rampage about fifty years ago and the fiftieth anniversary of those murders is dawning upon that college campus.
When that anniversary arrives, it passes unnoticed but for the investigative prowess of a professor of journalism. As one of the sisters goes missing and as the other sister has some pieces of the puzzle, the body count starts to mount, and our journalism professor smells a conspiracy for murder. With the help of one of her older adult education students with a mysterious past, the investigation goes into high gear.
The book is wholly plot driven, with little character development. There is no pretension to being good literature. It is simply a really good thriller. Despite being able to put the pieces together and figuring it out, I really enjoyed the book and could hardly bring myself to put it down! It was not the the solving of the mystery but the journey to that point that binds the reader to this book. I really look forward to reading more books by this author.
That being said, even with the twists and turns I was able to figure how people fit together fairly early in the book. A first for me and therefore a bit disappointing. It did not deter me from reading the book, on a too hot summer day but I’m hoping his next novel keeps me guessing longer. Something to look forward to...
