This recipe book has 200 pages and does not include photos of the foods. For those a bit new to the kitchen (most teens), I feel photos are extremely helpful and make for a more achievable end result. The description of this book showed colorful pages but in reality, there are a few photos at the very beginning of cooking utensils/pans and only @ six photos of the food items (bad, bland photos at that). There are a few cartoon drawings as well (how to mix, etc).
The book is disappointing, especially for the price. It reminds me of a cookbook I had as a teen - in 1977.
Suggestion: My teen would have preferred more photos (visual learner) - perhaps a small photo with each recipe would be nice so the new baker knows what their finished product should look like.
Top international reviews
It is well written, clear instructions and descriptions suitable for older children.
It does lack photos and illustrations of the recipes but the well written recipes make up for that .
Good selection of recipes including baking and meals
My daughter has so far made sweet and savoury recipes including mac n cheese. All have been successful, tasty and needing minimal adult help.
Its giving her a real confidence boost in the kitchen.
Highly recommend for any budding Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood's out there !
