Nice doll, not a great likeness at all. Dolls hair is super soft, no sticky residue as common to mattel, in fact that wasnt present in any of the secret door barbies so hopefully mattel isnt doing that anymore :). My girls had fun catching all the discrepancies between the doll and the actual cartoon character.
Doll has violet eyes, movie has emerald green.
Doll has no bangs, movie character does.
Doll has two toned purple pink hair, in movie the hair is all a magenta shade of purple.
In the movie she wears flats with an ankle strap, not these strangely large wedge heel shoes with butterfly details at the back. Her feet are larger than barbied st the toe so dont lose these shoes! Fortunately they have a snug fit, even without clear rubber bands to hold them on.
Her wand is all pink plastic, in the movie its blue with a gold handle.
Her legs do not pop bend, all stiff. Dress is velcroed on.
I didnt want to buy this doll because she is the nemisis in the movie and suffers no consequences in the movie at the hands of her parents after being naughty. However, it did encourage conversation with my kids about what her punishment and restitution should have been in the movie.
We appreciated that mattel finally made the villian character from one of their movies, after viewing all the others, doll likenesses would have been appreciated :) we hope ones in the future will more resemble the movie.

This doll was so cute that I just had to have her even though I don't like pink. I actually purchased her with the intention of doing a body swap onto a Madeline Hatter doll from Ever After High as they have similar skin tones. While her head is smaller she does look like she could fit into the line and doing the swap allows for many more wardrobe options. Her hair is very very soft and wonderfully thick (though I gave her a haircut.) My only negative regarding the doll is her limited articulation.
