A long time ago, I saw "Bob's Saucer Repair", the first book in Boyd's series as an Amazon suggestion. With a "Why Not?" Thought, I bought it, and was instantly hooked. Now, I wait for the next book, but not patiently...

Baycation continues the story of a rural mechanic who suddenly runs into the galactic civilization when he repairs a broken Saucer. This is #21 in the series. While back on earth for some shore leave, he sees the US Border Patrol was ordered to set up a US - "Schnitzelvania" border control, and this leads to his learning that well-disguised squirrels have infiltrated multiple of the world's governments, including the US. As usual for Boyd, the book reaches a totally unexpected ending, which leaves readers waiting for his next book.

BSR actual. I think you have a point, probably should pick up a cap to cover it, unless you still have hair. Yes ma'am, have your Bob ready. Mr President would you like some black walnuts. The line went dead. Boss Admiral and if you're really Brave Robert. I've noted at least in my coffee a couple of times while he's on baycation, that Robert uses command voice, "you will be silent" favorite is with Angela. The horns of a dilemma where they paying big band music in honor of Amelia? That wasn't clear in the text. I did find one fly in the ointment, when they talk about the economics of keeping the whole Fleet going they never say where they get the material with which they print and is that done at a subatomic level cuz they're pretty things to eat and they're printing things to build ships out of and it seems just a little out there.

P.S. it hasn't been mentioned yet but I would bet a ton of gold shintz is a lot smarter than anyone thinks, or suspects. I Yes we finally learned how to arrive before we left the whole book is a hoot and holler. Also suggested read is the book Care and feeding of Bob by Schnitz the dog" sold where you found this book. So strap in and be ready for abrupt maneuvering because

God story for a main character flying "under the radar". Hint over the last few books have BSR firmly in governmental and large cooperate sights. With the resources to make the smallest "Bandanna Republic" into an undisputed world leader overnight cannot be ignored. Even criminal actions would be "billed" as acts of protecting themselves. Yet the only "hint" is that a resource may soon become undependable/ unreliable. Things that could have been included would have be conversations between Bob and his trusted people. Sue notifying Bob of some individual claiming to be "Commanwealth Naval Command" using an old override code with directions for all ships and bot crews. Bob's lawyer telling him about receiving contacts from commercial groups pushing to make contact with Bob using minor to major legal "tricks". Jeeves telling Bob how his "normal" email accounts contain viruses not found on the internet. This could be from hackers seeking "cred" to governmental or large commercial groups seeking access to the tech he controls. An UN motion or bill by England establishing BSR as an recognized neutral group, but contains fine print items that places requirements on BSR to force it to be unable to protect itself and it's interest. England will, with fained regret their inability to counter these clauses. The president's "Condition" has placed the US at odds with Bob. Almost all other nations will seek to establish and grow relationship (based on their culture and with to idea Bob is unaware of their past history) before that relationship can be repaired. Any of these can be a passing joke or source of a future story as the author sees fit.

What can I say I’ve learned to automatically purchase each new Bob and Nicki book rather than using my kindle unlimited. Why, because I reread the whole series every so often.

This book continued the excellent storyline the series is following and, as usual, left me wanting more. What more could an author ask for.

Some typical visiting, humor, eating, making friends, action, all the things we find in a Bob and Nicki book. Not really big excitement just day to day stuff but it still left me ready for the next book right away. Almost a cozy feeling to this one.

I’ve been a newly wed as a young man. I’ve also been a newly wed as a middle aged man. I admit I got a lot more practice in as a young man but even then I didn’t get as much as Bob does. Maybe I need to go crawl in one of those boxes, shave off a few years and try again. It apparently gives one some incredible stamina to go with that younger body. Heck I might even reenlist and try to make it all the way to First Shirt or even CSM this time.

I started with book one and the story is SO engrossing, and the characters SO enjoyable, that I blew through all 21 books in under a month.
I'm not a particularly fast reader, but I just could not put this story down!
Alas.... Now it's over.... At least for now. Mr. Boyd did not kill off the characters, he just wrapped up the scenario he was spinning and left PLENTY of room to continue this saga.
I will be waiting....

Bob has to juggle federal agents, and deep cover agents giving him a hard time, as well as jealous family members wanting more of his attention, and a hunter who hits something besides a deer. Bob makes a new friend, and conquers an old enemy.

I really enjoyed the first 10 or so books but found that I'm skimming more and more lately. The same jokes that have been around for the entire series are still featured several times, often within the same chapter.

Far too many characters now, it's impossible to keep track of who is who and none of them, even Bob, have developed recently.

Nothing really happens anymore and I've had enough. It was good while it lasted but I'm done.
