I've got 13 recessed lights in my home. After starting to install these I learned I have at least three different types of cans in the ceiling. The first few cans didn't have the required "C clip" for using these lights, but I was able to buy a few here on amazon for cheap (search for "C Clips"). The lights that needed the additional clips took about 30 minutes each to install; however, the cans that had the clips already took less than 5 minutes including putting the ladder up to reach them.
The lights seem to seal well and use a fraction of the power of the older lights. I used an IR temperature meter to confirm they run under 100 degrees when on. I added some "D-shaped" rubber seal around the lip that touches the ceiling on the cans that are in my 2nd floor attic to add a little extra heat barrier.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed and they definitely add a more modern clean look to the house.
