Iliana and Hunter were sweethearts when they were young. Their love was forbidden because Hunter is a bear shifter and Iliana is a wolf shifter. Iliana stood up for their love, but Hunter turned his back on it causing Iliana to leave everything behind and go live in the city. Now she is back because her mother is sick, and she runs into Hunter. Hunter wants a second chance with Iliana he has never stopped loving her. There is one bear shifter that isn't happy Iliana is back and makes it known. Around them wolf shifters and bear shifters are being killed. Will they find out who it is before its too late? Can they get a second chance? Will Hunter be upset over the secret Iliana is keeping?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Bear shifter Hunter and wolf shifter Iliana had so much love but the battles between the bear and wolves was ongoing and her family even shunned her. She disappeared to the big city and had daughter Zoe. Years later when word reached her that her mother was ill, Iliana went back to help, reconnecting with Hunter. The characters are terrific, with great backstories, determination and forgiveness. The storyline has several sub plots, such as someone is killing both wolf and bear shifters, as well as the couple getting back together maybe, unless the killer gets them first. Zoe is a sweet girl who wants adventure and family. Loved the chemistry and passion that Hunter and Iliana have. The ending was perfect.

This is by far my favorite book in the Bear Ranger Guardian series so far. It has twists and turns. Murder, mystery, suspense, hate, betrayal, surprises and secrets. The road to Hunter a bear shifter and Ilianna a wolf shifters second chance at happiness is marked by and placed on hold by the murder of both wolf and bears in order to try to control the tentative peace between the two species of old enemies.
You will not regret getting this story. It is hard to put down and keeps your attention throughout the book. So come read the story to find out if the mystery is solved. This is an honest review of my own choosing.
