It was an okay read. I think what turned me off was Anya's obsession for etiquette and propriety. Her naivety and selfishness reminded me more of a sixteen year old than a nineteen year old. I did like the mystery of several maidens deaths. The bit of romance was worthwhile between Anya and Elric. What saves the story is Anya matures during her traumatic adventure and the happy ending.

ADULT Medieval Fantasy🏰🔪🌈 with Paranormal Elements.
This book started out interestingly enough but as it went on, the main female character, Anya, became more and more unlikable and neurotic.
The male character, Elrich, has some sort of paranormal powers, especially that of quickly healing his wounds, because he is from a far away people known for them.

Anya's character became unbelievablely annoying the further I read in the book. She is jealous, insecure, and petty.

There are women being murdered. Elric is accused of these murders and he has secrets to keep. At the Dusk of the Evening Sun fair Anya and her friends see a soothsayer who tells Anya to go to the barn if she wants to marry her knight Domeric. So Anya runs to the barn where she finds Elric in the cage. Elric tries to get Anya to let him out but she refuses. But when Anya sees a huge wolf enter the barn she knows she can not get away so she helps Elric get out hoping the wolf will eat him first. He talks Anya into getting into the cage for protection and when she does Elric calls the wolf to him and they leave her locked up. This is the start of Anya's journey. When she is found in the cage she is accused of letting a murderer go free. Anya is exiled and is being taken before the Cold King to be judged. Rescue and help comes in many shapes and with unexpected allies. This is a really good mystery in a world imagined that takes us from the Heartlands to the Dusklands with evocative characters. The reason for the 4 was because I felt Anya was just too whiney. But I liked the other characters and it is a well written book in a fascinating world. Very good read.

Beast is Broken

So this title does feel right for this story. It did feel like the main character did feel have a broken part inside of both of them. This is an interesting story set in medieval times. It is a paranormal romance about Anya and Elric. The story is different of what I have read before but I did have a little trouble of following through the but overall thumbs up.

I was really worried about this story - short of Twilight, I don't have any exposure to beast romance stories. So I was a little worried about what I was in store for. I was pleasantly surprised with this one - it was great! The spice was great, the story itself wasn't weird or uncomfortable, and the characters were not obnoxious. I did have some problems with the sexism included in the story; however, because of the era the story is set in, this makes sense - it was just infuriating to read at times. I didn't see the twist at the end coming, which I appreciated. Overall, a really fun read!

Magical and Enchanting Tale

Anya and Elric's story is absolutely fantastic. It's a paranormal medieval romance, a time of lords and ladies who rule the land. Anya and Elric come from two different lands and shouldn't be right for each other, but they are drawn to each other and wind up falling in love. The book's well-written with well-rounded characters, some of whom you'll like and others you won't. I was drawn into this magical and enchanting tale and kept hooked from beginning to end. Full of romance and suspense, this book will bring you through a range of emotions. The mystery will keep you guessing and on your toes throughout. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Medieval paranormal love story with a twist

I absolutely loved this book. It was not what I was expecting at all. I loved the twists and turns and I loved that you never really knew what was going to be happening with the characters. This was a medieval story with a paranormal twist. I thoroughly enjoyed how the author used the myths during that time to pull in the paranormal aspects of the story. I can't wait for more books in this series.
