Beautiful Dreamer: Secret Desires, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Sweet little Ollie has narcolepsy, and most of his life, he’s been misunderstood. Even his own parents thought he was just lazy and distant. Then when they learned of his condition, his young years were full of doctor’s visits, sleep studies, and medication trials. He missed out on a lot of ‘childhood’ staples, and finds comfort in them even as an adult. Playing allows him to escape from his troubles and be happy and at peace. Life can be hard sometimes, and dating is a nightmare for him. Men see him as lazy or too complicated, and don’t take the time to learn about or understand him. What he wants more than anything is a Daddy to care for and appreciate him.
Holden is a Daddy through and through. He’s got it all; a kind heart, a caring soul, and a built-in need to nurture. He even has a dad bod and dad jokes...the only thing he’s missing is a sweet boy of his own to dote on, pamper, and love. His latest attempt at a relationship ended in disaster, leaving him with an empty nursery, a heaping helping of doubt, and a hole in his heart. But he still holds onto a glimmer of hope that he’ll meet his special boy.
One day, when he least expects it, he comes across a brown-eyed beauty who takes his breath away. The boy is misunderstood and nervous, and in need of Daddy’s love. And Holden is just the man to give it.

First off, I will say that while I love 'daddy' dynamics, as I've said age play is NOT my thing. I don't find it arousing, but I can understand one's desire for it. It must be very confusing for an adult, who has childlike tendencies, to be alive in this world right now. As someone who doesn't feel they fit in in any way at all, I can respect this.
This is not my ONLY daddy/boy novel; in fact I've read quite a few. I found the dynamics between the two characters believable and realistic. I am guessing that the reviewers who did not finish don't understand this lifestyle at ALL and that's why this didn't resonate with them. Just to keep things faire. Given their roles, I think their dialogue was realistic, and even though instalove never feels like it's realistic for me I didn't let that alter my opinion of the story.
It's low-angst until the end, and there isn't a ton of smutty stuff, but overall I think that if you're curious about age play at all, this is a good place to start.
As for the narcolepsy; I found it very relatable and a good representation of someone who has this disorder, as well as others' reactions to it. We don't live in a world that accepts imperfections at all, and my heart went out to Ollie for his struggle and I praised Holden's willingness to accept him unconditionally. I wish I had someone to care for me like Holden did Ollie. <3
I didn't find any errors, and the only technical issues I experienced were with the formatting. Indents were all over the place and in the middle of the page. It was a little distracting but I understand that unless you have access to a formatting program or someone who has one, it's quite tricky to get it perfect. The book was still 100% readable; it's just a pet peeve of mine.
4.5 stars overall for entertainment value. :) I probably won't reread this at all, but I probably will seek out other books by the author. I'm curious if she has any that focus on other people with "special needs" and how she handles those. I also have a little bit more of an understanding to age play and even if it's not my thing, I can respect it more than I did before.
This story was so beautiful. Ollie was just so sweet and my heart broke for him knowing everything he had been through. Holden was perfect. So accepting and caring and exactly what ollie needs. Shawn being so awesome about their relationship was just a cherry on the cake. I hope there is a sequel coming because shawn deserves someone amazing.
Jayda marx does an amazing job describing the Daddy/little dynamic. I typically love these stories but get a bit leery of the ab/dl tag. I skipped over "nervous nate" for a long time for that reason. If that is a worry, put it to rest. Its actually artfully done and the way its described is really sweet.
Jayda marx is an automatic buy, and this story has all the sweetness, heat, fluff, romance, and pure awesome you can expect from this author.
They fit together perfectly in every way and with Uncle Shawn there for them it's creating the family Ollie had wanted.
This is a book with a full time little. It's not just something Ollie needs, it's who he is and it's written perfectly. There is never an awkward moment, it's all so natural. Holden's care for his boy is so lovely to read.
There is no compromise for them with the outside world, what they have and what they mean to each other is the only thing that matters.
I hope we get to see more of Zak, what little we saw of him, I liked.
There’s just something about the way this author writes the story and its characters that doesn’t make you want to stop reading until the very end. Ollie is so freaking precious and adorable. And you just want to freaking shake a stuffie really hard and roll around in bed because of how freaking adorable Holden and Ollie are together. Ugh, soooooo adorable and wonderful I can’t stand it. 10 out of 5 stars. Now I am off to read uncle Shawn’s story!!! Can’t wait!!!
There were tear of joy & sadness. I love that despite all the hardships he’s faced his strength and sweetness shine brightly.
Holden is the perfect Daddy and their courtship is quite touching. Again another book from this author I can’t fault.
Engaging and moving with all the elements to make you love this couple.
A+ for Ms Marx

If you're into age play reads I'd definitely recommend this book.
This book didn’t disappoint, Ollie was such a cute boy and Holden was a great daddy character with his hairy body and all! I love this story the happy feeling it gave reading it and wanting to read more. I enjoyed the age play scenes too it was so well written. I’m on to book 2 xx
I love reading daddy/little books and this one I think was definitely up there as a new favourite.
Holden really was in the perfect place to find poor Ollie, he really turned out to be the best daddy for him.
My heart bled for Ollie, his condition wasn't his fault. For his parents to do what they did was rotten.
I'm so very glad he found his daddy.
Very well deserved 5 stars ✨.
