That being said, there is no one-size fits all book for every child. Every family has to decide what will work for them, coupled with the advice from a reputable pediatrician. We did not follow the book's strategy 100%, and no one probably should. I don't even think it's meant to be read that way. But rather, it gives you the ideal situation and you tailor that to your baby's own needs.
I have heard of unfortunate stories where people who followed the Babywise theory ended up with medical issues. So again, I would emphasize, that common sense, the advice of a Dr, and this book, will help you get a schedule that works for your family. No one should disregard practical medical guidelines.
So when I was moving to solids at 5 months I definitely wanted this book for guidance! I love the easy approach and helpful tips. If you’ve already been sleep training but didn’t use the 1st book this will still be extremely helpful!
My son has responded so well to the suggested modes of correction, and he's only 7 months old! So thankful for the messages in this book.
Decent ideas on child rearing otherwise but I would recommend skipping this book. I'm hopeful the next one is better as I'd already bought it
