A New York Times best-selling author looks for the meaning of a good life by seeking advice from the very young and the very old.
When his first book tour ended, Brad Montague missed hearing other people's stories so much that he launched what he dubbed a Listening Tour. First visiting elementary schools and later also nursing homes and retirement communities, he hoped to glean new wisdom as to how he might become a better grownup. Now, in this playful and buoyant book, he shares those insights with rest of us - timeless, often surprising lessons that bypass the head we're always stuck in, and go straight to the heart we sometimes forget.
Each of the book's three sections begins with the story of "The Incredible Floating Girl." Brad weaves this story together with lessons of success, fear, regret, gratitude, love, happiness, and dreams to reveal the true reason we are here: to fly, and to help others fly.
Becoming Better Grownups shares the purpose and meaning we can all discover merely by listening, and reveals that - in a world that seems increasingly childish - the secret to joy is in fact to become more childlike.

1. I LOVE the way the book is bound. Its a hardcover book, but it’s thick board! If the intention of choose that style of bookbinding was to help grownups feel childlike, it works. I LIKE IT.
2. I love that the table of contents is a maze.
3. I love that there are pictures on EVERY page! 😍
4. I love Brad’s drawings. I was FaceTiming with my friend and showed her the drawings and told her “I think my brain and Brad’s brain are similar. Except he knows how to draw and I don’t. I like what comes out of Brad’s brain onto paper.” Then I said, “That should be my review....”
So here it is,
I like what comes out of Brad’s brain onto paper.

I’m a big fan of Brad’s work and love that he wrote this book to tell us how to be good grown ups. Since I’m currently striving to be a super rad awesome grown up, I think this book is going to help tremendously.
In all seriousness, being there for kids is so important. If we care about children, then all kids are our kids. Listening to what they need us to know so we can do better by them is what the world needs. Thanks for putting it in book form for us, Brad!

Its message - about becoming better grownups by being more childlike - is so necessary, so important - yet is communicated with such a lightness of touch.
The book is beautifully produced - like a children's book (and I mean that as a compliment) - with board covers, and thick pages, and clear type, and colourful illustrations. It's the perfect format - allowing the message of childlikeness to live within the pages, rather than being drowned beneath a mass of words.
Yet there are words enough to challenge, encourage, inspire and change us. I noted down many (sixty!) short quotations, and will end with just a couple, from near the start and end of the book:
"We become more fully alive when we listen to the child within us."
"[Children's] unassuming honestly, open generosity, and playful curiosity brought me back to the child I once was and the grouwnup I so desperately wanted to become."
There is so much more to this book than I can communicate here - so get a copy and read it yourself!

I Don t know Brad, but from what he writes, it's clear that he is a person who truly cares. Not only about children, but even more about how to help each other to feel better about ourselves.
It shows that even if most time we might feel not good enough, if we try and are fully ourselves, we already bring value, just with our own being as we are.
I just wish thus book would never end.
