My absolute favourite movie of all times
Verified purchase
This was the first English-language film I have ever seen after traveling to the U.K from gloomy post-Soviet Belarus to visit my father when I was around 11 years old, ( the objective being to spend Christmas with my whole dysfunctional family which was sadly much creepier than the Deetzes). Imagine my shock and amazement seeing this beautiful insanity on British TV on Christmas eve and thinking that this is exactly what ALL American and /or English films are going to be like in the future (expectations dashed terribly in later life unless another Tim Burton wonder was available on occasion). I barely spoke English and understood maybe a quarter of the dialogue at best but awesome stop animation visuals and Michael Keaton's hysterically pervy character completely made up for it. That was almost thirty years ago and I'm still madly in love with this film. It's an absolute treasure.

Nearly immaculate transfer in 4K.

One of my favorite movies finally looks as it should. AMAZING. All the details in art and makeup are there for you to see in 4K glory. HDR10 is beautiful but not too in your face, and subtle details are insane at certain points as the wider format allows light and shadow detail beyond bluray's dreams.

You really feel like you are viewing the film's stage from a few feet away during various scenes. DNR and all that stuff has been kept to a bare minimum, and the grain field is not too bothersome on this release. The bitrate is very high. The sound is stunning. Even in headphones you can tell the tweaked Atmos track is great. It wasn't too shabby before on the last bluray, which is included here. Sadly, that bluray looks terrible in comparison to this release. I do wish they would have remastered the release on bluray, but what are you going to do... at least we got this.

Quite like some films of the 90s no one can forget, Beetlejuice stands the test of time. This is a Tim Burton masterpiece. The UHD brings out gobs of detail in a stunning picture transfer among the best on the format.

This 1988 goth-fantasy film is fun and creative. Some of the things I really like about the film is the excellent soundtrack; fun model of town; creative and imaginative look at afterlife; the sets and use of lines and colour; Winona Ryder makes a fantastic goth teenager and does the best acting in the film in my opinion. The 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition also includes three episodes from the animated "Beetlejuice" TV series; music only audio track (5:1); and theatrical Trailer. I hope you enjoy the film.

"I Myself Am Strange and Unusual."

Best quote ever! Oh my goodness! This DVD set of "Beetlejuice" was fantastic! It has special features like extra episodes from the animated series and some behind the scenes look into the movie! I love this 20th anniversary edition of "Beetlejuice!"

But now let's talk about the movie itself! The movie was quite enjoyable, as I loved all of the actors and actresses' performances in this movie. They really gave it their all in this movie and I loved the fact that each character have their own quirky personalities that make the movie entertaining to watch! I also loved the creepy aesthetics of the movie, as the architectures shown in the movie are built in a bizarre way, especially the scene where Adam and Barbara walked through the CRAZY looking hallway in the afterlife.

Also...BEETLEJUICE! I mean, how could you not talk about Beetlejuice? He's easily the best part of the movie and Michael Keaton did a fantastic job at portraying his character! I just loved the fact that Beetlejuice was such a WILD and CRAZY character, despite being a ghost and the antagonist of the movie.

Also, it's rare that you come across a GHOST movie that actually talks about how the afterlife works and how hard it can be for both the living and the dead. I especially loved the fact that the afterlife is portrayed as a BUREAUCRACY. That's right, a BUREAUCRACY! It makes this interpretation of the afterlife extremely creative.

Overall, "Beetlejuice" is one of Tim Burton's weirdest yet most creative out of his films and it is definitely one film that I will watch every OCTOBER until the day I die.

Haha....I hadn't seen this movie in years....well maybe decades but who is counting. My son hosted a movie night on the projector and invited a crowd. They laughed and giggled and had such a great night. It's an oldie but great to watch for some good old fashioned humor.

Great!! Not scary, it's really funny!

Definitely something different from the mold. I really do enjoy the entirety of this movie. Michael Keaton does a fantastic job at getting into character! I bought the HD digital copy of this film - the dialogue is a bit difficult to hear compared to everything else's level of sound. I had to keep turning it up and then when a crash/boom/bang happened, it was so freaking loud.

and I really enjoyed it. The dead couple were charming and likeable

This is the first time I've seen this movie all the way through, and I really enjoyed it. The dead couple were charming and likeable, and tbh I never realized young Alec Baldwin was so good looking! Wow! I missed out. I do think for a movie called Beetlejuice, the title character was underutilized. I think I'd like to see a remake of this one day, as a series, on Netflix or something, so we could see more of Beetlejuice, Lydia, and the whole afterlife world. It dragged a little when the couple spent so long trying to figure out the whole 'being dead' thing, but the last 20 minutes I found really entertaining and made it worth the watch. Will probably buy the DVD.
