So why 3 stars? Because this isn't a series about Dave. This is one series about Dave with about a dozen novellas inserted into the middle as the author goes off on tangents that really have almost nothing or little to do with the main plot line. If this was a paragraph or two for information it would be fine; but alas this is not the case. The author goes on for chapters about minutia that really does nothing more than bog down the story. Add in that it's about secondary, tertiary or even characters we haven't met yet and it gets frustrating. These novellas in the middle of the story actually make it hard to stick with the story. I found myself setting the book aside a number of times as it got interesting only to suddenly shift to something unrelated. To be honest is disgusted me and I had to take a break before coming back. Why did I come back? I still wanted to know what happened with Dave.
Bottom line is that the main story is pretty good, if you are like me and don't mind skipping multiple chapters at a time to pass the nonsensical fluff then it's an even better book. In either event it's worth reading even for all the frustration.
There's definitely an interesting overarching story arc with a slow burn to it. Like the fact that it doesn't end on cliffhangers and enjoy getting to know all the characters better. Very realistic characters that I want to read more about. I'm looking forward to reading all the rest of the books in the series.
I am so glad, I did. The characters really grow on you and the series was very enjoyable. Sometimes we have to get through the rough edges of a book to find the diamond.
Tried to throw in sects from the ten realms like the snowglobe forge.
Good series so far, time to read the next book!
Good story, though. Will definitely be following the adventures in the next book.

Ein Beispiel? VORSICHT SPOILER
Probleme in irgendwas? Fremdwort.
