I tried to go the cheap route; that was a mistake. The cheaper ones are just poorly machined and the metal was low quality. Here's were the adage "you get what you pay for" rings true. A quality tool like this will minimize the time spent removing spring bars. This in turn reduces the chances of scratching your watches. While the cheaper tools work, this one just works better. If you're a watch guy, don't waste your time, just shell out for this one and save yourself the anxiety and headaches. Hope this helps!
