The gates of hell eagerly beckon for members of the Republican party.

Rest assured, when a Republican attaches a flag lapel or offers up patriotic rhetoric you can be certain their sincerity comes with the morals from the most pungent latrines. Republicans prey upon ignorance and the basest of instincts in human nature to sweep political and financial power their way and, as Palast shows, they go to immense lengths to craft law & order to do so. Palast's excellent research and courage to confront Republican degenerate Kris Kobach and his ongoing technique to suppress voting rights is particularly telling. Without fear, he also trojan horses into lavish soirees to shine light on the likes of Paul Singer and John Paulson - two rapacious greed artists who leave millions of working class Americans on the brink of survival while they enjoy unconscionable social and political clout.

Paralleling the works of other muckrakers like Michael Moore and Glenn Greenwald, this documentary lays bare how torn are the moral fibers of American "democracy" and social justice. Watch, learn, and vote with urgent conscience. If you live in a state where Republicans manage your ballots, do your best to make sure your vote counts!

A Real EyeOpener...Elections are Stolen and Governments Bought and Sold

I wasn't aware of the extent of voter suppression schemes. The film does an excellent service by summarizing all kinds of nasty plots to take away our right to representation, ALL perpetrated by republicans and funded by the greediest of billionaires. Isn't that irony, that this right was the subject of the original tea party...and now look who wants to snatch it away. Really excellent level of detail with enough to get a clear picture, but not too much to bog down. Some people didn't like the gumshoe private eye humor, but I didn't mind. The approach was kind of Michael Moore, but with a longer history of investigative reporting than Moore usually brings to his subjects. Excellent. Should be somehow better publicized...maybe televised. That would be very cool....maybe Sundance? MTV? Comedy Central? IFC?

How a few wealthy, corrupt men suppressed voters and affected the 2016 election. It must be prevented from occurring again.

This is a must watch documentary for anyone who cares about our country, democracy & voters rights.

Great investigative reporting that connects the dots between Koch brothers, Karl Rove, Kris Kobach, and others on how the vote was suppressed in the 2016 election, specifically targeting blacks & minorities. A computer program "Cross Check" was used and has since been adopted for use in 29 state to date. There are also ties to J.Paulson and the housing market crash and what he did to the Detroit area and GM plants in addition to the Koch Brothers and the Keystone Pipeline & Paul Singer one of the wealthiest billionaires in the country.

The Best Democracy...Stolen Election - 4 Stars - Pretty Good

It's informative and entertaining. It doesn't stay on target and tends to get caught up in the racial aspects. I knocked it down 1 star because it ends implying voter rights violations are a race issue, primarily AFRAM voters.

It's initial thrust was exposing the elimination of democratic votes and the money behind it. Noting that a large majority of voters singled out were minorities, it started down a race path, with undertones these voters were discriminated against for color. It overlooks that minorities are heavy democrat voters and that's why they were singled out.

I can only surmise he wanted to incite minorities to action. But the message seems to just fall into general discrimination issues and loses its call to action as a nation.

An eye opening look at the effort to suppress voting in America it is worth seeing.

WOW...this movie is an eye opening look at the effort to suppress voting in America. The lengths some politicians are willing to go to suppress the minority vote is regrettably not shocking or earth quaking. It is challenging our democracy at every level of government. And the amount of money billionaires are pouring into the American political system is regrettably not shocking or earth quaking. These should be shout it from the mountain top revelations so every soul in America knows the truth and it shall set us free. But in the wake of the storm that is President Donald J. Trump we are losing our political soul. Fear not for it shall pass in time. This movie is worth me and you will not be disappointed in the movie. As far as politics and the money pouring into the system well yeah you're going to be disappointed by that but not by the movie.

One-Side of a Completely Corrupt Coin
Verified purchase
If you're looking for a reason to hate Republicans this film will help you get there. But please, remember that politicians know very well that without conflict not much happens. So between the media and a 2 sided "corrupt coin" called politics they end up with constant conflict. Then they (both sides) use the conflict to separate us and to take away our life, happiness and peace.

The Unbelievable Is Laid Bare
Verified purchase
"The Best Democracy that Money Can Buy" is a must-see film for all Americans who are unsure how elections are rigged. Everyone must understand the horror: our own fellow-Americans are stealing elections via voter suppression. A picture-ID requirement is nothing. Wait until you see how interstate Cross Check is used to purge voter rolls.

Greg Palast deserves an American Medal of Freedom for his dogged investigative reporting into election fraud. (Note for emphasis: that is "election" fraud, NOT "voter" fraud.) It is nearly unbelievable that our nation consents to stolen elections and the devastation of our democracy. Yet, all is laid bare in this film. When more people realize the sad reality, together, we can right a terrible wrong. Share this film with your friends and family.

All the dirty voting tricks exposed on one film

I watched this with a little skepticism. I've watched other films and you always have to take everything with a grain of salt. When watching this, what was disturbing and obviously true, billionaires will go through extreme lengths to protect their interests. Those interests are directly aligned with their bottom lines. If their profits are threatened, they will do any and everything to eliminate that threat. Laws don't matter, and even if they did, you just buy the judge who will uphold the laws that favor you business practices. Everything is well documented. Its' too bad that the average person will never see this film, and even if they did, some will find a reason to think it's illegitimate. The fastest way take away your rights is to convince you that you never had them to begin with.
