Expose of USA Industrial Greed
Verified purchase
Very worthwhile to watch this. I was vaguely aware of the Union Carbide Industrial Accident in 1984, but this was very good in educating me. Also horrifying. More clearly see the greed of the USA Industrial Complex and the harm it has done. While those responsible have temporarily escaped punishment, it is only temporary. The victims will be resurrected. The sick can be healed. The wicked will not be there. There is Divine Justice and it will be brought by supernatural means, not by mankind. Total failure of Union Carbide and Dow Chemical to take responsibility and try to make amends. More importantly, they should have provided proper oversight to prevent this. The plant should have been dismantled and the area left clean. Revelation says God is going to bring to ruin those ruining the earth. So in the near future lovely India and its loving people will be restored along with the rest of the earth.

Tragic Movie
Verified purchase
The movie does a good job of telling the story. The attention to detail and depictions of the poison victims are great. The performances and cinematography are solid as well. It is disturbing to watch but important to learn about.

My one complaint is that the part about cyanide. From what I've read, MIC and water only makes methylamine and carbon dioxide. The victims died of MIC gas exposure, not cyanide. There is no antidote for MIC exposure.

Union Carb
Verified purchase
The actual story needed to be told in a much better detail about how and the corruption at BOTH Indias and U.C. investment and building the plant thru the gas release and post but spending so much film on one persons wedding was a waste of film and story that NEEDED TO BE TOLD.!!!

Throws light on one of the greatest coverups
Verified purchase
An excellent movie demonstrating one of the biggest tragedy after WW II that costed thousands of innocent lives. This movie tries to answer the negligence and subsequent cover up done by Union Carbide to wash their hands off the disaster.

Sound Quality is Horrible!

You can hear the Hindi dialogue but even at full volume the English dialogue can hardly be heard. Should have returned it. Being such a wreck of a CD, cannot even donate it. Too bad because the story and acting were very good.

Everyone should know about Bophal. This will do it.
Verified purchase
I was familiar with the Bophal tragedy & Union Carbide’s role in it. I’d been hoping a bigger budget film production would give it the attention it deserves... but this is good & i appreciate Martin Sheen being involved in it.
