Providing an overview of the topics of interest in this book, Bill outlines his content in the Introduction – ‘When it comes to unexplained mysteries, this book truly has something for everyone – history, science, the supernatural, and true crime…You’re read about mysterious lost treasures, such as the ancient Germanic warlord Alaric’s tomb and the possible location of King Solomon’s mines. Strange science mysteries are also covered, including the mysterious hexagon on Saturn and the bizarre blobs that fell on Oakville, Washington in 1994…’ Whose curiosity could resist?
In Bill’s casual but solid style of writing, he shares such fascinating mysteries as a blond hair blue eye South American tribe, the missing Romanov jewels, Victorian era UFOs, the mysterious Goodyear blimp, nuclear weapons test vs. something from another world, volcanoes an asteroid or both, the existence of Tardigrades (water bears – eight-legged segmented animals that usually only measure about a half a millimeter when full grown and can survive extreme radiation and outer space that no one understands), the unexplained Shugborough Inscription, and more.
Not only is the book entertaining – it is also very instructive. For those familiar with Bill O’Neill’s talent for tickling the brain, this book is a must read – one of his best. For those who are simply looking for solid entertaining reading to while away the hours, welcome to the field expert! Highly recommended – especially during these times… Grady Harp, June 22
