The book states she has not spoken to Greta in 4 years, but then over the Thanksgiving break she speaks to Greta like it's no big deal. On one page, Joni is slipping her phone in her tight jeans but the next she's in pink leggings - same scene.
Joni and Jack’s history, separate and together, will leave you with feelings of complete satisfaction. Stephanie does an amazing job with character development and redemption for the so-called bully, her ability to pull your mind into the story and make you feel their emotions and pain, states a lot about her character as an author. How she was able to incorporate such an amazing collaboration between the poor and the rich, bringing them together and overcoming their personal demons by each other’s side, deserves a round of applause!
Jack is not only brilliant, but he is an outstanding quarterback and has a scholarship to a great university, but the scholarship only pays for tuition and room and board. He is as poor as can be and he's trying to support his mother. He has so many issues in his life, but he struggles to keep them a secret, while playing the role of big man on campus.
But when Joni transfers there, it upsets his equilibrium and his world.
Joni appears to have it all. Seeing Jack again shakes her world and her objectives. Joni is also keeping secrets.
As they keep running into each other, their relationship changes and deepens.
This book is one of the, if not the best book, that I've read from Stephanie Queen. It is for mature readers only and has language and explicit sex, which may not be for everyone.
The author provided me with an advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.
