Lincoln Peirce (pronounced "purse") is a New York Times bestselling author and cartoonist. His award-winning books for young readers include a series of BIG NATE illustrated novels (HarperCollins/Balzer @ Bray), an ongoing collection of BIG NATE compilations (Andrews & McMeel Publishers), and the MAX & THE MIDKNIGHTS trilogy (Random House Children's Books). Lincoln says, "I try to write the sorts of books I would have loved reading when I was a kid." As a 6th Grade child from Singapore, school can be especially stressful. In Singapore, when you reach 6th Grade, you will have to take a national examimation before moving on. Teachers give lots and lots of homework which take hours to complete. Not that only, the teachers organise plenty of remedial lessons which last all the way to the late afternoon. Under this tremendous amount of stress, it is not unusual for one to crack like Nate.

Now on to the book, the illustrations are simple, but, elaborates every situation or feeling clearly. The simplicity of the illustrations tell the story really well. And from the perspective of a child, Nate's homemade comics are irresistable. The funny situations Nate and his gang get in male this book hilarious and simply relatable.

As a parent, I couldn't be happier with the Big Nate series of books. She's enjoying the books so much that she doesn't want to put them down. Keep popping these books out, Lincoln Peirce, because I'm going to have a very disappointed child once she gets to the last book available.

I had already read most of the Sunday's too. Do not buy this boom if you have read a lot of other Big Nate books. You will recognize most of these. It is full of Sunday's and nothing else
It is funny, but not what I thought I purchased. Hope nyou like it, I certainly was disappointed.

I wasn't aware that this was in comic book form. A little disappointed but i guess that was my fault. I should have looked into the book more carefully. On the upside, i gave it to my 12 year old grandson who started to read it. If not for the format, he might not have even opened the book!
