Tamie sensitively handles the issues of rejection, trust, physical disability and surprise pregnancy. Though our protagonists have obstacles to overcome, the story has hope, love, and chemistry woven throughout.
Well written, with characters you have to love, even in their imperfections, this story draws you in and stirs up your emotions.
This was a great third installment in the “Limitless” series and I recommend this book.
One fateful morning he literally bumps into Brook and pours coffee all over her. Brook has on a t-shirt of the logo of the place from where he was adopted. He pursues her hoping he’ll get the answers he needs. Brook just got divorced from her cheating husband. He left her because she couldn’t fall pregnant after 5yrs of marriage. The weasel got someone else pregnant! What he didn’t know was she was also pregnant. She’s hurt and is in no mood for another man. She’s done with men. Although they deny their feelings, Cole and Brook really fell in love almost immediately. They get into a marriage of convenience because both have a need the other can fulfill. They planned the divorce even before the wedding. There’s a lot of LOL moments in the book as the two find their happily ever after. I can’t wait for the last book in the series and they get better and better. Tamie Dearen does it again, loved the book.
The story started out fine but then it slowed down quite a bit for quite a while. Part of that had to do with the story going over and over the same issues that each one of them had. That's not to say that the issues weren't important ones. They were but it got kind of repetitive. Then add in the silly rules that Brooke came up with and it wasn't long before I was rolling my eyes.
Both of the main characters have their insecurity issues regardless of their income levels. I got tired of Brooke's obstinate and almost self-righteousness. As time went on I started really not liking her all that much. She had me shaking my head from all the stupid stuff she was doing. Cole is a good guy although he does have a temper but so does Brooke. She goes off half-cocked a lot of times. She doesn't take the wisdom of other people when it comes to her safety.
The story does have a H.E.A. with an extended Epilogue which was good to see.
So overall, although it had some good points, it's not a favorite for me.
