Feeling happy at the end.

Love on the big screen without rampant sex and nudity for the sake of nudity. Oh yes, the kissing scenes are nice too. Kind of how my wife and I kiss. Rachel Nichols and Johnathon Hurst are merely great together in this film. They should be in more movies together. Through the ups and downs (and the viewer can feel the emotional ups and downs) by the end of the film I was feeling happy. A good way for a romantic film to end for the viewer, feeling happy.

Adorable! This is a great movie if you're looking for something with a mix of a little comedy, a little depth while staying light, and cute romance. I like the dynamic between the two main characters, and I love how the search to learn about the bird turns into something meaningful and symbolic.

A whimsical mix of mystery, romance and goodness

This is a wonderful story for all of us romantics out there. There is an underlying reality to A Bird of the Air that lets actors Rachel Nichols, Jackson Hurst and the rest of the cast bring their characters alive. They struggle, they hurt, they laugh and love the way I do or aspire to do. Even though the book on which the film is based is more than 25 years old, director Margaret Whitton has made her telling timeless. You will have to look far and wide to find an film as unique, as heartwarming and as rewarding as this one. Watching it with a significant other is highly recommended.

I could only take 20 minutes of the lead actresses OVER ACTING before I stopped this movie. I literally felt myself getting really annoyed by it which is ridiculous because I'm super compassionate and chill. Why didn't someone speak up during filming this??? I told my daughter she must've gotten her start in community theater....who fell asleep ten minutes into it! It was bad all around. Totally unbelievable. Dont waste your time.

Watch this movie - you will not be disappointed

This is a great movie! I had never heard of it until scrolling through my Amazon prime selections, and was very pleasantly surprised. It is a satisfying mix of a romantic comedy and a soul-searching quest, with witty humor, relatable intensesity, and ultimately a message of self-sacrifice and love. The bird becomes the thread of a tale that weaves the two main characters in and out of a great cast of supporting characters, and adds a subtle warm-fuzzy animal movie flavor to the movie. It also is a great family movie, especially for teens and up. There are a few sexually suggestive scenes, but in a very subtle, flirty way, and nothing that many teens have probably heard from their own parents at home! I have watched it now 3-4 times, and each time I like it better than the last - in fact, I am currently watching it tonight...and last night, too! I highly recommend it.

Surprisingly good. I wasn't sure if the story would work but found it to be believable, and not too dramatic. Acting refreshingly good. Love the New Mexico scenery.

Librarian AND Jackson Hurst? A sure win!
Verified purchase
I enjoyed this tender story of hope, redemption and acceptance. The story line is unique with a plot that keeps rolling out in ways that support the story. I love movies about librarians, so it won my heart with that key role. I have to admit that I chose it because I have fallen in love with Jackson Hurst, one of the sweetest hunks around! Very satisfying, especially for one of those days when a good story is just the thing!

Horrible Movie, Horrible Acting!
Verified purchase
I came on here just to write how bad this movie is. I have watched my fair share of bad movies and this takes the cake right up there with Halle Barry's CatWoman! It is so disappointing when you see actors that you have seen act well in other movies or shows, but then they give a horrible performance in something else. They were poor choices for this movie, which made it downright boring and very painful to watch. How could the directors and editors watch this?! Don't waste your time watching this movie unless you are up for self-torture!
