I thought this series ended with book 7 but I was happily wrong and am glad to revisit the Loyal Nine. In fact, I hope there is another one to come to put a c!owe on this chapter. The Loyal Nine and their families have been targeted for assassination and their survival is very much in question. Full of action.

The story starts out as a low-keyed day for Sarge, President of the United States but soon becomes his worst nightmare. As had been planned, he and some of his cabinet and friends had a hunting trip planned while the first lady, children, and the vice president along with a family friend had visions of a happy shopping excursion on the busiest shopping day of the year. Even for the president, thing don’t always according to plan. As the first family sets off for a day of enjoyment, no one could have foreseen the heinousness act that had been put into action against not just Sarge but also his family. What cold hearted fool could have or would have had the means to accomplish this well-timed assault? Black Friday is an incredibly well written story by this gifted writer who can weave a story like no other. Bobby Akart will have you feeling every horror, every painful blow, every ounce of hatred that the characters that we have come to love from the Boston Brahman series felt as they went through one of the most hellish days of their lives. To find out who is behind all of this, Sarge must rely on his most trusted friends and then with hope and a prayer be able to figure out who and why this had all happened.
This is one of the most compelling books to date by Bobby Akart. As a longtime fan of his, I have come to love his writing more and more. With this book being my all time favorite and one that I feel will be very hard to beat. All though I have said that before and was proven wrong. I look forward to what this author has in store for us next!

Bobby Akart continues to give his readers spell-binding scenarios that are so close to real life, it's scary as all get out. Black Friday, although a stand-alone, is structured on what originally happened with the Boston Braham Series. The kidnapping of FLOTUS and the Presidents daughter. Paramilitary action taken against the Vice President and the wife of the Presidents Chief of Staff. A Government within a government, and a former President who is out to kill the President, and nearly does. An armed rescue attempted at sea. A former confidant of the President who would rather see him displaced from his "head at the table". Can't even being to tell you how exciting and riveting this book is. AND.... it appears that Bobby has left this book open for a follow-up if he desires, and I certainly hope it does. Now, I am going to pull out all my Boston Braham books and start re-reading them. Keep 'em coming Bobby!!

An action packed stand-alone in the Boston Brahmin series that had this reader on the edge of her seat several times. (Along with several times my family saw my face and asked what was wrong - then they found out I was "reading Bobby's new release". Ohhhhh, that makes sense! LOL)

If you read Akart books for preparedness insights and think you can't learn much from a fictional president with political connections and security teams on his side - think again. The mall scenes and kidnapping scenes will have you reexamining your situational awareness and wondering if you REALLY give your gut the trust it deserves. So many great ideas in this well-written, constantly evolving thriller. I confess the BB series isn't in my favorites of Akart's many books, but THIS book has turned it around and drawn me in way more than any before it. The ending was interesting - I wonder if there will be another installment (and hope for one).
