Black Hollow:Fairly Sweet by Jennifer Wedmore gives us candy store owner and witch Alizon Bishop’s tale. This story answers a lot of questions about Alizon. As she finds a future she has to let go of the past but can she? Maybe with the love and support of her fellow Black Hollow citizens. I really enjoyed this story but oh how my heart ached for Alizon.

FAIRLY SWEET is the tenth book in the multi-author Black Hollow series. Each is a stand-alone in the Black Hollow world.

Action and adventure are added into this paranormal romance as Alizon and Lucan race a clock set into motion 500 years ago to end her life.

I’ve always been fascinated by the facts and myths surrounding the Salem witch trials. Imagine if there was just one witch. She got away, but bore the guilt of all of those souls for 500 years. That’s Alizon’s guilt – directed at the woman in her mirror, instead of (rightly, IMHO) pointing the finger at a bunch of lazy, spoiled, and bored teenagers.

I love Alizon’s candy shop and her own cute description of it. The story is as sweet as the title with the insta-attraction between Alizon and Lucan, yet nothing about their relationship felt overly-rushed.

Finally, I loved catching up with Ravenna and Derrick from Jennifer Wedmore’s other contribution to the series, ONE MAN’S CURSE.

The story is entertaining, romantic, and has a touch of suspense that kept me turning the pages long into the night. The characters are engaging and enchanting.

I believe there may be a magical spell woven into the words of the Black Hollow town description to keep the reader happily ensnared. I know I want to return again and again.

Enjoyable and entertaining read. It really answers a lot of questions I had about Alizon. It also has plenty of intrigue, action, and unexpected turn of events. Overall a good read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. Black Hollow is The place to be for paranormals of all kinds. Alizon is a witch that escaped the Salem witch hunt, which started when she was seen using her power to help her plants grow. She has been carrying guilt for the deaths of so many people because her magic was seen. She finally settled in Black Hollow and owns the local candy store. Lucan is half-fairy and half-human and is larger than any of his family. That makes him an outcast among the fairies. When he makes a seed delivery to Black Hollow he meets Alizon and sparks fly. Not such good sparks in the beginning. The more he sees her, the more he wants to get to know her. Someone has been kidnapping witches is the mundane world and are now after Alizon. To assuage her guilt, she wants to confront them and save her friends. Lucan is frantic to find her and help her. I liked how their relationship didn't start off with stars and glitter, but they had to get to know each other before the feelings really grew. The attraction was there, but it wasn't insta-love. This series is so much fun and so many different species to share their stories. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

He arrives in town and he is half fairy and half human but he has none of the powers or even flight of a fairy. They will meet and things look good but someone is killing witches. So she now has a target on her back. Can he keep her safe? Can they stop the killer? Who is the killer? Can they stop them? See if there will be a happy ending

Alizon Bishop is a witch who owns a candy store in Black Hollow. Having escaped Salem during the witch trials, she has a troubled past she has not yet learned to move beyond. Lucan O'Brien was half-fairy and half-human, though he didn’t feel like he really fit in either world comfortably. When he comes to Black Hollow, he finally meets someone he could love – Alizon. But she is in danger when someone begins to kill off witches. Can he protect her? Or will he lose the one he loves before he even has a chance to win her heart?

This was a good story with interesting characters who had their own issues to solve and danger to face. Will they be able to help each other? Or will such issues scare the other away?
