Lynn keeps the story zooming along, never a dull moment. The woman -- Libby-- is a chatty person, unlike Jared, who is quiet and contemplative. He thinks she's going to drive him crazy, but instead they just fit and find that something special in each other. But will he still feel the same when she regains her memory?
I have to say I've been a fan of Lynn Raye Harris for several years and I think I've read all of her Hostile Operation Team and HOT SEALs series, but I really have to say at the Black's Bandits are becoming my favorite. (That's like trying to choose between several favorite flavors of ice cream, though. ) Maybe I like Ian Black's band because they're a few years older than the team in the regular military. Maybe its because of Ian Black (& those tantalizing glimpses we get of this terrific character). I enjoy the cameos from previous Blacked Bandits stories.
Next up will be the man himself, Ian Black!
Libby is at Jared’s mercy since she has no memory of what happened to her, how she made her way to Jared’s cabin, or who she is, she depends on him to help her figure things out. Deep down she knows she can trust Jared. His gentle, but skilled treatment of her injuries proved what Jared told her about him being a combat medic and seeing to her comfort and well being has shown her he is a caring man as well. While Jared assures Libby he will protect her and no one will hurt her, he instinctively knows the hunters that came to his vacation cabin looking for a lost woman are bad news, he prepares his weapons and Libby for the fight he is sure is coming.
Jared is also a good cook with minimal fuss and simple tastes. He shows Libby he is a man of a few words and like his mother, he is also a lover of classic books some of which he brought with him on his vacation. He is secure in his own skin, with his own company and he likes quiet. Libby is a talker, a sweet, gentle woman who loves to talk. She doesn’t just ramble on, she talks about many things and even makes him laugh at some of the things she talks about.
When the men come back to the cabin with a friend and his hunting dogs, it is clear they are tracking someone. Jared knows that someone is Libby. I love how Jared assesses the situation and doesn’t hesitate to take the necessary steps to eliminate the immediate threat to Libby. I enjoy how Jared uses his resources at BDI to secure Libby’s safety and to also find out more about who she is and what she is involved in. Libby’s memory loss is a mystery in itself, but when unfriendly people hurt her and try to kill her, Jared, Ian Black and his team, know there is a lot more at stake than a possible domestic situation.
It is a testament to the kind of man Jared is to know that he is not going to let any harm come to Libby. He is determined and with Ian’s help, uses the resources within BDI and whatever other means necessary to help Libby recover her identity and find out why someone wants her so badly. I admire Libby’s subtle strength despite her fear of what her unknown memories might reveal. The comfort of knowing Ian and the BDI team make this story feel like a continuation of the family BDI has become. Full of action, suspense and heartfelt angst, this story is also packed with the sizzle of Jared and Libby’s hot, sexual chemistry. Great story and a fabulous HEA!

Liberty can't remember who she is.
Liberty can't imagine why there is someone trying to kill her.
Jared Fraser aka Knight who is a hardened mercenary.
He goes up into the mountains for a retreat of peace and solitude; well that changes the minute he sees a beautiful woman that he can't help but start falling for her. Libby can't remember who she is but somehow she feels safe being with Jared. Libby is bleeding from the head and neck who is standing a freezing alone in her sports wear in the horrendous snow storm right outside his remote cabin. Jared then takes Libby into the cabin and helps patch her up and he tries to gently coax her to see if she can remember who she is. Jared hopes and he can help her figure all of this out and also hopes this will be sooner rather than later.
However it doesn't go well for Jared, when he finally gets Libby to remember what she can, he takes her in and call for back up in the help of Ian Black and the his fellow mercanries. Jared doesn't know this but when he takes her to the office to see what Ian has found out he finds himself starting to fall in love with her. Libby knew she loved him from the moment she started getting bits and pieces of her previous life. Libby hates the fact that she can't be with Jared after the problems are solved. She has no need to worry though. When she meets his teammates' wife's/fiances that suddenly changes, she fits right in with them and grows close to them. Libby had not known these women for long but knew that they were going to be the best of friends.
Jared tries to keep his distance from his feelings about Libby but he can't. When they find out who's trying to kill her they only have one choice and that is to go back to her work place to get her belongings and something that she remembers she was given to hide and help protect the company or so she thought.
Jared's feels and knows that Liberty King is such a special case to him. He realises that Libby is showing all the signs of recent and horrendous abuse. He knows the signs as his mother and himself were victims of abuse from the hands of his evil and selfish father.
Libby, knows that she can’t remember who she is for the time being. Their only lead is that Libby has a necklace. One that has a with the name Libby engraved on it. Will this help solve the mystery of Libby and her previous life.
What a great read. Another one of Lynn's books that doesn't disappoint. I'm loving this series, can't wait for the next one.
Liberty ‘Libby’ King can’t remember who she is, so when she stumbles into Jared’s vacation why isn’t she scared of him. Libby is desperate to remember her life but at the same time is worried about what she was involved in prior to loosing her memory.
As damaged appears to be getting closer, Jared takes it upon himself to make sure Libby is safe and if that means becoming her ‘Knight’ in shinning armour then it’s a role he is will to take.
I loved this next book in their series and can’t wait to read more……
I liked the characters and this time the focus is on the budding relationship between the two before the rest of Blacks Bandits and the ubiquitous Ian Black are involved.
I liked it and the bonus comes at the end when Ian's story is announced as the next book.
Oh yeah definitely recommend this book and if you haven't read the others I would suggest starting from the 1st book in the series which is from the Hostile operations aka HOT series.
