Reasons I like this phone:
An excellent physical keyboard. I did not own a BlackBerry Keyone so I can't compare, but this one is bigger, it looks great on my Black version, and it is super clicky. Far better than on my previous BlackBerry, the Priv. I also really like the ability to see my whole phone screen while I scroll websites and many apps with the keyboard working like a mouse wheel.
Efficient Speed. My Priv was very slow, but this phone was built to handle android much better than the old phones, with 6 gigs of ram and a snapdragon 660 processor. One of the knocks on the Keyone was the lag, though I can't imagine it was anywhere near as slow as the Priv.
Perhaps my biggest reason for liking the phone is the apps. Not only is this a fully functioning Android phone running Android Oreo at launch but it has a suite of great blackberry apps. I haven't had any problems running Android apps, though I don't do too much intensive gaming, Nintendo apps are working fine. The productivity and security of the BlackBerry apps work great for me. I always leave the Hub open and I use it to run my everyday office life. Email, calendar, todo lists I send to my BlackBerry Hub, and I am good to go. I feel safer too running security features on the phone such as dtek, locker, the fingerprint sensor on the keyboard that works very well for me, and Firefox focus when I am dealing with sensitive information.
On top of those reasons the phone just works great for me. Using my phone at the office as a tool, this feels like the way to go, though it still runs media very well.
Reasons to get it:
Keyboard, Blackberry on Android, productivity apps, security, great battery life, great all around phone.
Reasons not to get it:
Nice screen but awkward video aspect ratio making video smaller than phones with similar screen size, processor works for games, but not cutting edge stuff, if you don't want a physical keyboard it is always gonna be there and there is another BlackBerry for that. 650 is too much for some. No US carrier sells this, and it won't work at all for Verizon or Sprint right now, or maybe ever.
Get all the info to make an informed decision as this is definitely a unique product. I researched it out and do not regret my purchase one bit.
This phone seems to be really well made. The corners aren’t as rounded as I would like, but that’s just a personal thing. Amazon Prime had it to my front door in less than 48 hours. I pulled it out of the box, inserted my T-Mobile SIM card from my old BlackBerry, and everything works perfectly! Easy set-up. I did have to manually enter my contacts and calendar events because BlackBerry Content Transfer didn’t work on my old Classic. No big deal. I was upset about that at first, but I’m over it now.
My complaints are NOT with the phone itself, but with the Android operating system. In a nutshell, it ain’t the BlackBerry 10 operating system. So if you like the Android operating system, you’ll love this phone. I’ve handed it to several of my Andriod using friends, and they all like it. If, like myself, you have no experience at all with the Andriod operating system, then you have a big learning curve ahead of you.
I’m giving it 5 stars because it works exactly as they advertise it to work. I can’t rightfully detract from its rating just because I’m a total newbie to the new operating system. I just wanted to mention it in this review for others who may be in a similar situation as myself switching from BlackBerry 10 with no prior experience with Android.
Bottom line: It’s seems to be a solid phone and it does exactly what BlackBerry says it’ll do. What more can you ask for?

Absolutely LOVE my new BlackBerry Key2 phone. It replaces my BlackBerry Key1 which I've now passed to my husband. Everything on the Key2 is superb, BUT - and it is a big BUT - purchasers please be aware of the new App "The Locker". This is an ultra secure storage app into which you can put anything - any other app etc. However, you need different passwords for everything and just try to remember them!! Everything had transferred seamlessly onto my new phone from my old, but because of this "Locker" app, I had 2 days of complete mental breakdown as I just couldn't remember all the passwords and was completely locked out of everything. So, I had a beautiful brand new phone which was useless. Because help for specific BlackBerry issues is not readily available in the UK (I know this as a BlackBerry aficionado for many years), I just lost sleep and became more and more stressed thinking of what I could do to retrieve the situation. I knew a Factory Reset would damage the phone. Then - had a brainwave and good old Google came to my aid. Simple. I went into my Google account and then into the Play Store and tried re installing just one App, to see if it worked.... no it did not! So.……….. I proceeded to UNINSTALL a couple of transferred apps, then manually re install them. Yipee, it worked!! So, I manually re installed every single app. It took me nearly a day. However, my new Key2 is now perfect, but it gave me a breakdown to start with!!
It's not for gaming, and it doesn't have a massive screen. But it makes up for it in pure functionality for those looking for a device catered to those who loved what Blackberry always strived to deliver.
The capacitive keyboard is very useful for scroll browsing and great for normal typing.
I use it dual SIM and it functions well.
I use for home and work Sims with outlook and Apple mail accounts. The outlook operation is perfect but Apple make calendar and contacts icloud usage tricky.
This phone also feels good in your hands - professional, practical and easy to hold. I’m not the most familiar with Android devices but really do appreciate the apps and it seems there are infinite tools that comes with it. I like my iPad Pro and iPhone for their intended purposes, watching Netflicks, playing games and fun apps. But thanks to BB for keeping it real, listening to their customers by giving us what we want; a quality device that is safe and feels like it will last forever.
Pros: everything you love about BB but with androids software so you don't have your programs becoming obsolete like my old phone.
Con: the space key has the thumb print scanner and gives a OCD irritation feedback and sound compared to the rest of the beautiful keys.
Since April this year I have been using BlackBerry Key One till it fell into water last week. After this misfortune, I immediately went to a store to buy another BB Key One and after I learnt that this product had been discontinued I decided to buy BB Key 2 Silver. I like this this phone but less compared to BB Key One due to its keyboard.
Suggestion for improvement:
1. To make its keyboard as shiny as the Key One's (both black and silver parts).
2. To make numbers more legible by imprinting them in white colour like on Key One's keyboard.
If done, I am ready to pay a premium, otherwise this is my last purchase.
My shipment came faster than expected and it was brand new - I thought it was slightly used - but perfect condition!
