Katherine Parker is on the cusp of having everything she ever wanted - fame, money, and acclaim. So why isn't she happy? In search of answers, she comes incognito to Hope Harbor on the Oregon coast for some R&R. Maybe in her secluded rental house overlooking the serene Pacific she'll be able to calm the storm inside.
Coffee shop owner Zach Garrett has found his niche after a traumatic loss - and he has no plans to change the life he's created. Nor does he want to get involved with his reticent new neighbor, whose past is shrouded in mystery. He's had enough drama to last a lifetime. But when Katherine and Zach are recruited to help rehab a home for foster children, sparks fly. And as their lives begin to intersect, might they find more common ground than they expected...and discover that, with love, all things are possible?
Best-selling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites you to come home to Hope Harbor - where hearts heal...and love blooms.

The characters in Irene Hannon's books come alive on each page. She is gifted in creating characters and situations that the reader feels part of. When she describes scenery, I can picture myself right there.
It has been noticed by a few that Hope Harbor has a mystery woman in their midst. She makes rare appearances, however, when she does, her face is mostly covered with large sunglasses. She's been to the local coffee shop, The Perfect Blend, twice. Both times she looks uncertain about whether she should come all the way in or make a hasty retreat. Zach Garrett, owner of the coffee shop and curious about the mysterious customer, offers to prepare the same drink she ordered on her first visit, a skinny vanilla latte. As she hovers by the door while her drink is being prepared, Charley, known for his famous fish tacos, steps into the shop, bumping mystery lady with the door. Zach gets the impression Charlie possibly might recognize her. Zach is intriugued and even more so when he notices her later walking along Blackberry Beach, right outside the back of his house. She's easy to recognize with the large sunglasses. He learns she has rented the house next door to him.
Many residents of this close-knit community pitch in to renovate a house that will be called Hope House and will serve as a group home for foster kids - especially those of the same family, so they don't have to be separated. Zach's recently retired Aunt Stephanie comes for a visit and along with Zach is involved in restoring the house. Stephanie makes some new friends that cause her to re-think her retirement plans, including where she will live. As the pages of this intriguinlg book are turned, a surprising secret is revealed, a challengng family relationship is dealt with and life-changing decisions are made. I'm counting down the months until another visit to Hope Harbor takes place in the next book.
Hannon has created a wonderful cast of characters for BLACKBERRY BEACH. Katherine Parker is right on the edge of obtaining everything she has ever wanted and worked so hard to obtain - fame, money, and acclaim. But now she is not sure that is really the desire of her heart. Katherine has traveled incognito to Hope Harbor for some much needed R&R. She is hoping her time in her secluded rental home with its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean will help calm her and reset the course of her life.
However, Katherine did not count on Coffee Shop owner Zach Garrett being so kind to her. Or so patient, non-threatening and truly friendly. And it did not hurt he was very good looking, too! Everything was fine until she discovered he was her next door neighbor! How would she ever be able to keep her identity a secret now?
Hannon masterfully weaves this story together and throws in a big measure of suspense to see if there is any way possible for these two to forge a unique relationship and make it work. Also, love may be in the air for another unlikely Hope Harbor couple. Hannon’s use of one beloved character, Charley Lopez, the local fish taco making artist, helps give readers a feeling of continuity throughout the Series. Charley serves as a sort of spiritual guide but with a big brother feel. He’s the kind of friend everyone wishes they had in their life. He is an important asset to the Hope Harbor community. Hannon will delight her readers with this story!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Revell and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.
Irene Hannon has done it again. Every Spring I look forward to another Romance novel from Irene and she has delivered a beauty with this one. Hope harbor has turned into such a living and breathing community within the pages of each installment. I so wish it was real so I could visit and maybe stay for an extended visit. You will find the usual cast of regulars, Charley, Floyd, Gladys, and Caspar, along with the Pastor and the Priest. The romance that develops through the pages feels natural and not forced. The characters are real and act in ways that feel natural and you come to care very much about them.
Irene is a world-class author and it shows, she is well deserving of all the awards and accolades she has received. Do not miss out on this trip to Hope Harbor, it is a perfect way to start the Spring season!
