3.0 out of 5 starsGreat acting with weird writing

Very strange story line with some great acting and a lot of talent behind the effects and cameras. Theres a 'sort of' message behind it all in the end but the entire movie made no sense. At one point a guy is being marched into a room to be executed by 10 guys but then 8 disappear and he kills 2 and escapes? Absolutely nothing in this movie makes sense in context to the world the story takes place in. If the actors did not do such a good job I would say this movie is easily a 2 star.

Only watch this movie as a distraction in the background with friends. Its a disappointment when you pay attention to it.

The entire movie was like watching a foreign film without the subtitles. There didn't seem to be an emotional connection from most of the actors. They were "acting" and it seemed like that.
I was trying to feel a connection between them but it wasn't there. Why would a guy who got back his money from his friends go around doing them all wrong? They did the job with him and earned it after 15 yrs. That's what I don't get. Just cuz he stood around waiting for the cops to arrest him isn't everyone's fault. Just his.
In the end the cop ran without the money. That's messed up and confusing.
The story wasn't intriguing, the plot was a common theme of movies, dive bars are all over the place. There just wasn't enough compelling about it. 'Cept the brothers of Sonny were frightening.

2.0 out of 5 starsLots of action but still boring

This movie made no sense. It had alot of action so you can tell they spent some $$ on good props/stunt ppl and decent actors. However, what this movie attempted to do was already done and executed way better in other movies. We get it! Sonny was trying to bring the demon out of Jake again, but Jake turned over a new leaf and wanted to live a better life without crime and terrorising innocent ppl. Sonny still had that 14 yr old boy living inside of him and was living in the past once he got out of jail. Sonny's brothers were gangsta though and down for the foolishness. Who blows up a police station, walks in and get their brother out of jail?!?! What city they do that at and just walk away! Lol.. And the back-up cops or swat team are no where in sight. Then the criminals are at a strip club celebrating?? TF?! Overall, I got the point but the movie just didn't flow well. Two many bad action parts in between. Especially, when Sonny attempts to kill Jake several times but fails?!! It wasnt convencing at all. Before I continue this rant, let me stop. If they didn't have good actors in it, I would have stopped the movie and never watched again. This is definitely a movie to play in the background or fall asleep to.. lol

I tried, I really did and I rarely give up on a movie but this just couldn't hold me. It was like a bunch of nonsensical scenes filmed by different people based on an overall theme that then got spliced together. I just didn't get why they added things they never came back to and so on. It felt like if two suburban kids wrote a script based on what they thought urban life would be like from the movies they'd seen in the past.

This was a great movie. Suspense was magnificent. This movie would trurn around alot of youth to think twice about going to the bad side. One police but coming back to relatively going further . Alot of meaning in this. Unfortunately its just horrible for the people have to live and grow up in this type of real life. I know it wasnt a story that really happens in life

Loved it. The main characters were believable and it felt so authentic to watch. It was entertaining, suspenseful, and the supporting cast was great! Many times the mains are good and support are so-so. The soundtrack was awesome and also the cinematography. Very, very satisfied with my purchase- no theaters in my area played it

The guy who plays the bad guy does an awesome job. It was very suspenseful. There were things that didn't really make sense, but what do I know. That world makes me uncomfortable. I'm glad I wasn't raised in it and I feel bad for the people who are. Don't care for rap music so I can't comment on the soundtrack. The lady that played the female cop was good and should have had a bigger role. The lead guy was pretty dull. The ending was so-so. The movie was disturbing for me because that class of living makes me sick on my stomach. I think all teenage girls should see it so maybe they will leave the scuzzballs alone.

The drugs and him (Sonny) becoming a cop knowing that when you have a record you can't become a cop or detective. Tremaine Trey Songz did alright in this movie seeing that the last movie he was in was a epic fail. I think they didn't give my boy JB Williams (Saints + Sinners ) enough screen time. Not a movie I would add to collection though.
