“Take my word for it, James Reece is one rowdy motherf--ker. Get ready!” (Chris Pratt, star of The Terminal List, coming to Amazon Prime)
The number one New York Times best-selling Terminal List series continues as James Reece embarks on a global journey of vengeance.
A woman boards a plane in the African country of Burkina Faso having just completed a targeted assassination for the state of Israel. Two minutes later, her plane is blown out of the sky.
Over 6,000 miles away, former Navy SEAL James Reece watches the names and pictures of the victims on cable news. One face triggers a distant memory of a Mossad operative attached to the CIA years earlier in Iraq—a woman with ties to the intelligence services of two nations…a woman Reece thought he would never see again.
Reece enlists friends new and old across the globe to track down her killer, unaware that he may be walking into a deadly trap.

Wow, thank you Jack Carr and keep writing. You get it and so does James Reece.
On his 5th novel, Jack Carr decided to go all the way into action movie blockbuster mode to bring us a new and unexpected help to Reese’s never-ending misfortunes in the form of his very own Wintermute, or maybe more like Cortana. So, I guess James Reese is now officially Master Chief’s great-great-great-great-grand-daddy and The Terminal List series is just a prologue to Halo.
Looking forward to book 6 where Reese goes to another planet to fight the Covenant. In The Blood could have been the best book in the series if not for the singularity BS.
It's amazing how he can keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole book and give as much detail as he can. Makes you really think about what's out there that we don't know about.
The only bad part of the book is that it leaves you wanting more.
I can't wait til his next book comes out.
The last thing I expected when reading Jack Carr’s, “In the Blood” political/espionage thriller was a ‘sci-fi’ quantum computers information dump, but as hoped, this fifth installment of The Terminal List series featuring protagonist James Reece grabbed my attention and took me on an exciting and suspenseful thrill ride. From the prologue which gave me goose bumps with its foresight to the epilogue which entices me to continue the series, In the Blood was a terrific recovery to “The Devil’s Hand.” This thriller brings James Reece back to what he is best at, ‘ass-kicking’ action, hunting down those responsible for death and destruction and less political propaganda and opinions. The action is vindicated, believable, and authentic. Carr gave life to the MMA-like grapple in the meat locker, and it really took the scene to another level. Not many authors are capable of writing what Carr was able to do with that scenario. And as usual, there is a lot going on in this story and I will admit that the narrative took paths in directions that really surprised me. Yet, somehow, it all worked. Carr definitely gives the reader a lot of descriptive information, almost to a fault, but once I got passed the gun porn dump and tactical gear advertisements, the storytelling was captivating and appealing. This is a fast paced, testosterone fueled, action packed thriller that anyone who likes this genre should thoroughly enjoy. Carr has an innate ability to fascinate and immerse a reader based on his real-life Navy SEAL experiences, his in-dept research, and his knowledge of historical facts and events. As with all his novels, Carr’s character bend and story development are exceptional. The show down between Reece and the bad guy - set up in prior books – was riveting and well done. And the information about quantum computing – although interesting and intriguing – only provided some minor additions to the story. Overall, In the Blood is an outstanding read. Excellent story telling with good writing, vivid prose, and a nice tone. Looking forward to the upcoming serial action series, The Terminal List on Prime Video.
The attention to detail & the historical references are incredible, all mixed in with characters who are developed to perfection while participating in an action-packed story!!!
Top reviews from other countries

I've read all five of the James Reece books and they have sadly (IMO, of course) got more and more turgid as the series progressed. The first was great, the second was good, third and fourth were so-so and I've abandoned this one 15% through.
The problem is the politics and bizarre levels of gun-love product placement that are mini-reviews of the kit that Reece and his best buddy use. Mix this with literally dozens of pages of descriptions of how the hero feels and, despite the fact that we had a plane shot out of the sky, there is just nothing happening.

I think Jack Carr is the best in the business in this genre. Uo to this point I thought his first book, The Terminal List was by far his best. This is on par with the Terminal List and possibly has a bigger cliff hanger ending!
Top notch, can’t wait for no. 6
