Editorial Reviews
Review
A New York Times bestselling series!
Praise for Rise of the Earth Dragon (Dragon Masters #1):
"In this first of the Dragon Masters series, vocabulary is accessible; sentences, paragraphs, and chapters are short; and dialogue moves the story along rapidly. Black-and-white sketch-type drawings add depth to the story and feelings to the characters (both children and dragons). Emergent readers will find happy success here." -- Booklist
"The first of a new series of early chapter books, this entry is sure to attract fans. Brief chapters, large print, lots of action, attractive illustrations in every spread including a maplike panorama, an enviable protagonist -- who wouldn't want to be a Dragon Master? -- all combine to make an entertaining reader. With plenty left to be resolved, the next entry will be eagerly sought after." -- Kirkus Reviews

About the author

I am the bestselling author of more than 300 books for children and young adults. I currently write the New York Times bestselling Dragon Masters series for the Scholastic Branches line, and my Pixie Tricks books are coming back as a Branches series with brand new art on December 1 2020. I am also the newest author of the Heroes in Training series and am part of the Franken-Sci High creative team for Simon & Schuster. In addition, I write for the Cupcake Diaries and Sprinkle Sundays series as Coco Simon. Some fans may know me as the author of books based on cartoons, such as Pokémon and LEGO Ninjago. I live in New York's Catskill mountains with my family and a variety of small animals.

The next book invisible dragons comes today and I'll have to read that first before starting it at bed time because I'm worried that will also be a bit scary.

She has the entire set from book 1-21 and I pre-ordered #22 months ago.
The characters are entertaining for the young readers whether girls or boys. Not too advanced, but just enough to keep their interest and help in their reading skills and following the stories. Daughter remembers connections between the various books and the current one (whichever on is the newest).
If you want an adventure book for your young reader that either you read to them of they can read themselves this is a great choice. Keep their attention with the stories, the heroes, the villains and of course all the dragons.

Series is great to reread many times too.
