‘Steve Higgs can be counted on to keep you amused, with vivid imagination, characters you can sink your teeth into, plenty of action, and delicious snark.’
When Tempest Michaels opens a paranormal investigation agency, it was to corner a niche of the market where gullible people believed they were being haunted or that their Great Aunt Hilda was a witch …
… what he gets is unparalleled mayhem as cases with far more teeth and claw than he expected start lining up at his door.
Having invited chaos into his life, it’s not long before he needs to call in help, but are his mates from the pub, an ex-army buddy, his dogs, and his mum (why are there no grandchildren, Tempest?) really the back-up he needs? They’d better be because there appears to be a master vampire in town and the bodies are starting to stack up.
Read Paranormal Nonsense, and nine other action-packed stories now for a fraction of the cost of buying them individually but be prepared to have sore ribs from laughing too hard!

About the author

When Steve Higgs wrote his debut novel, Paranormal Nonsense, he was a captain in the British Army. He would like to pretend that he had one of those careers that must be blacked out and generally denied by the government, and that he has to change his name and move constantly because he is still on the watch list in several countries. In truth, though, he started out as a mechanic - not like Jason Statham in the film by that name, sneaking around as a hitman, but more like one of those sleazy guys who charges a fortune and keeps your car for a week even though the only thing you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, he was largely disinterested in all subjects except creative writing, for which he won his first prize at the age of ten. However, calling it the first prize he won suggests that there were other prizes, which is not the case. Awards may yet come, but in the meantime, he enjoys writing mystery and thriller novels and claims to have more than a hundred books forming a restless queue in his mind because they are desperate to be written.
Now retired from the military, he lives in southeast England with a duo of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, he doubts he'll ever leave, the beer is just too good.

Having said that.... if this had been the first book in the series for .99c I would buy the second book for the regular price. These books (so far) are fun! There are a few annoyances where the author strays a bit from reality, like when you get threats to your life, you inform the police. When some guy shows up on your doorstep and tries to hurt your parents, you report the incident to the police, unless things are handled differently in England? The main character, a private investigator, NEVER calls the police to tell them anything, and when he is arrested, does NOT tell the police who the actual perpetrators are, or who the other people who ran away from the scene were.
The books are still fun though, written with enough humor to redeem the other bits, the fight scenes are actually believable, and I love the Dachshunds.
I am looking forward to the rest of these books!
Top reviews from other countries

So this, in my opinion, would have been a one off book bundle.
Imagine my great surprise that I actually LOVED these books.
Very well written and a book without chapters! Just headings, brill.
Tempest a man I'm surprised made it this far in life being single! For goodness sake the man loves dogs!!!! Cute sausages at that, not big manly dogs, but awesomely wonderful mini sausages 💗💗😍
He has his own moral compass and follows it. Yes he has a 'thing' for the twenty-four hour clock, but he's ex Army.
Big Ben, best friend and man phwoar 😉 but will always be there when there's fighting or fun to be had!
Amanda, her character shows us the struggles some female police officers seem to still face in this day and age. But she's smart and resourceful and very beautiful, this is according to Mr Wiggly lol.
James/Jane. This is a wonderful character. Gender neutral, deciding each day which sex you're going to be. Love him/her.
All the other characters have a definite part to play in Tempest's life. I adore his dad lol.
Buy the books, you won't be sorry!!
