Lame stories......

Most TV series have a tough time staying fresh after a few seasons. This series was no exception. It started becoming far too political by the 7th-8th season. I quickly grew tired of the liberal "preachiness" the writers/directors seemed so enamored of.

Please do not mistake my poor review as how I feel about this series. I will most likely do a re write as I don't have some of the facts I wanted and needed for this review. This show made a few mistakes. I have to say over the years unlike other networks, and other writers, people involved with this show seem to listen to the fans on some of the biggest topics. We got to see some couples marry which was big for any show. And I know getting people married on tv may not be the best thing which is why they don't do it that often. But this show became to campy, far to sophomoric, and it was at the point where enough fans made a difference and said enough. Nobody would hold off being together that long in real life. People are getting married after a few months in today's day and age. Not my thing, but I don't judge. Fans wanted them together, and they did it. They got them together and a child. After so many fans said they were not going to watch anymore if they did not change directions, the show listened.

Ratings got better. Don't believe me, check it out. Most seemed to want them together. Along the way they took a man who they built up to be "almost" perfect, so much so not only woman loved him, but men want to be like him. So little by little they had to dirty him up a bit because lets face it, nobody is perfect.

But they created enough drama with other topics. The one thing you don't ever do is fix something that is not broke or in this case loved by most of all the fans. What I am getting at is they are just destroying the chemistry between Booth and Bones. Has anyone counted how many times she has already threatened him to leave, or told him to leave, or put doubt in our minds if they are going to make it or not, and then throwing him out due to demons he is fighting? Really? Is that how marriage is suppose to work? I know many of this generation do not view marriage or relationships like my parents did, and I am 46 years old. I believe like they did, no cheating, and married for life. However, my wife did not believe in this as I did.

They are really hurting the writing as one person put in here, By AlaskaFamilyon May 9, 2015, and I quote, "They've gone back to a single episode of story telling." Now on top of this change, they took many of the people we love away along the way. The one thing we could always feel good about was their relationship. This is not the way to get us on the edge of our seats. This is a huge mistake. I believe many woman get enough of soaps during the day, men don't really like it, and this is a relationship that we could always feel good about it. I even wrote once that they finally got it right unlike so many other shows that don't. The Following is canceled, and they did the same numbers as Bones has done. Now Bones has been moved around more then gypsies. But I believe the writing, and destroying Booth, and his relationship with Bones really hurt the ratings this year, and it will kill off this show after this year if they don't change course.

Many will disagree I am sure. But the real die hard fans want them together. I want drama and action to but don't do it by undoing all the good that got you here in the first place. One reviewer who's review was loved by most in here said that Bones seemed to be more cold then usual this season, and we don't know if it is part of the script, or if it is some tension on set? What ever it is, they need to at least get that right. They can mess around with story lines, themes, anything, but when you mess around with the characters we have fallen in love with, and for that one hour a week, welcome them as family into our homes, we don't want that anxiety of hurting Booth, or his family which is what they are doing.

There seems to be little direction, and no one theme where they can arc one story while telling a different one each week. I think screwing up families we love on tv hits home to many of us, and that is not what I am looking for, and it seems it is not what the fans are looking for either. The numbers prove it, and so does the forums. They need to fix this or our show which could go another five years if they wanted to, will be gone after this season. So it's a five star franchise, but for me one of the most disappointing seasons of all. I hope they correct the writing, and listen to the fans. Find another way to create drama. Not by showing that this man is not perfect which we know already, and every time something goes bad for him, she is ready to leave. I agree with the one woman who wrote Bones has become and grown to be far to cold as a wife, and to the father of her child.

Hate Cliffhangers. Grateful for Amazon Prime.

First off, I watched the entire series from beginning up to two seasons back within a year or less on the TNT network. I started out watching because I was bored. When I saw the pilot episode, I decided to check it out and got hooked. continuing until I was current on CBS. Then, I got left with this frustrating "Cliffhanger" that drove me nuts. When they finally came back to air Season 10, and play out what happened, my DVR went on the fritz, or something, because it didn't record the first two episodes of the season which made me reluctant to watch the following episodes. Especially when I didn't know what happened to Sweets, or Seally.

I hate it when they leave "cliff hangers" like this one. Especially when the Network doesn't leave more than 4 past episodes up at a time on their web site when I miss the opening viewing. I went crazy trying to get these two episodes.
I'm grateful I was finally able to find these episodes on Amazon

An Obsession for Me

I am hooked on this show. Can get a little soap opera-like, but once I knew the characters, I wanted more. Bones' take on the world and her interactions are always refreshing. The people really care about each other and there is often real growth in each episode. Many are exciting, perhaps a little over the top, but still engaging. The Pelant series was great (previous years). Also the FBI insider expose. Hope there are more like this to come. Love how Kathy Reichs is involved in the show, even thought her Temperance Brennan character in the novels is not at all like Tempe in the series. Great that the character in the books by the show's Tempe is Kathy Reichs. Also that Kathy, David, and Emily all produce and/or direct episodes. A great rapport among all cast members. And of course the ongoing merry-go-round of Interns provides a constant supply of humor, interest and personalities.

Another well written season of drama

During the 10th season, Bones is still a bit socially awkward, but brilliant. The Booth/Bones relationship is still the key to the program, but the writers have done a great job of providing depth and background to the other characters. As in seasons past, the characters deal with the loss of a co-worker. I appreciated the acknowledgement that working on a case of a co-worker was difficult, every time a character has faced an issue, the writers do a great job of explaining and showing that people are multidimensional. I truly hope this series remains on broadcast tv for years to come.

I watched the first episode of season 10 on Fox.com and cried myself silly! Devastated that Sweets is no longer here as he seemed like such an integral part of the Booth and Bones duo. I wasn't able to see episode 2 so I had to buy it through amazon. I have to say it was well worth the purchase! I can't wait for the next one and the one after that and the one after that (I think you can catch my drift). I did notice that Daisy seemed more grounded (not so flighty and insecure) but whether it is due to the baby or the loss of "Lancelot" or both. I look forward to finding out more. I am excited to see another side of Booth, a gritty-er side and I admit it makes the show and the Booth-Brennan relationship more intriguing. BTW-did anyone else think that Agent James Aubry (sp?) was a little like our dearly departed Vincent Nigel-Murray? The final song sung was also reminiscent of Vincent's passing as! Keep the seasons coming!!!

This season being the prelude to the end makes it bitter sweet. Already we know Jack and Angela our going back to France. Aubrey possible falls in love. Ever episode I watched this season is without interruptions. All know this is grandma's hour. The tenth season is more intense. If you enjoy this show as much as I do buy this and next season. Watch reruns and pick out
the episodes you like best. If looking after your pennies like I must, lost my pension in 08, retired 09, saves you money if there are seasons you liked less than others, buy what you like.

Best show ever! KUDOS to the writers, cast, producers, directors, etc

Bones is still my favorite show. I look forward to it weekly, on TV. I still have not had success in down loading episode one yet, however. That disappoints me. I thought Boothe's anger and frustration at being betrayed by the FBI was well portrayed. The support Tempe gave him upon his release from prison, and his reaction to it was well done. I cried when one of the characters was lost. The point is, though, the team still hangs together, which is how it should be, and I really love all the characters. RIGHT ON!!!
