Simple, comfortable and secure. The Boppy ComfyFit Hybrid Baby Carrier provides security and comfort in a compact design. Thoughtfully created for security and connection without the bulk. This carrier is easy to put on and easy to store with an included Stash n’ Go pouch. Inspired by yoga apparel, the lightweight, soft fabric moves with you to support you, baby, and your lifestyle. The fabric is UPF 50+ to add a little more coverage for baby when out in the sun (remember sunscreen for baby’s exposed skin). Boppy’s signature hybrid carriers combine the ease and security of a structured carrier with the comfort and connection of a baby wrap. At Boppy, we believe your carrier should be secure and comfortable for you and baby. Our carriers take the guess work out of babywearing by combining the best of both wrap and structured carrier styles. This perfectly uncomplicated design gives you an adjustable waist belt with storage pocket, a soft structured place for baby to avoid any wrapping confusion, and easy-on arm straps for simple and secure babywearing. The breathable wraps bring you and baby close for added security and connection. A minimalist’s carrier with some great features (because every parent deserves a little spoiling). Easy on the go with no infant insert required and it packs small in its own storage pouch to toss into your diaper bag; 8-35lbs. recommended baby weight. Enjoy 3 comfy carrying positions: newborn front face-in (legs in frog position), baby front face-in (legs out) and front face-out. Be confident in your carrier decision. The Boppy ComfyFit Hybrid Baby Carrier is acknowledged as hip healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute when used as directed. Adjustable waist belt: 54 inches maximum length.

Next I tried the Ergo baby carrier which is a more traditional carrier - lots of buckles and straps with a formed baby pouch. It is much faster to put on than a wrap since you just adjust it your first wear then throw it on every time after. Not the most comfortable and you definitely can’t put it in a diaper bag. However it supports baby and mommy very well and works until they’re toddlers. It’s a great option for hiking or more manly looking for Dad baby wearing. But still not what I wanted for running to the grocery store or shopping. It’s just too cumbersome.
Then I found this - the Boopy version. It is literally the best of both worlds. It has the structured baby pouch and one buckle around the waste to make it faster to put on AND gives you some pelvic and lower back support. But even better it uses the stretchy soft material similar to a wrap all around it and is not nearly as bulky as an Ergo or similar. I’ve also been told I look very fashionable in it ;-).
Best part? I can throw it in the diaper bag, it takes less than 15 seconds to get on and it doesn’t sag. Baby LOVES it. And when you tie it around your waste and pull the material out it also hides a postpartum pooch! Win, win.
Don’t waste your money on anything else to carry baby. Just get this.
Secure. I feel like I’m wearing a Luca shirt. Luca is my son. He’s not going anywhere in this thing. It’s also very well made. This is some sturdy fabric. Like the opposite of what strippers make their outfits out of.
Easy. Compared to the IKEA level of assembly required by other carriers, this one is a snap. Literally. A snap, a cross and a tie. Done!
Practical. I can pee using both hands. Which lets me also pull my pants up after with both hands.
AC will have to be lowered. The combined body heat of a baby and a 40 year old safely insulated behind this well made carrier is a smidge warm. **Easy fix. Take off your pants. This is a t shirt and boxer kinda activity.
All in all, 10/10 would recommend.
The Boppy Comfy Fit looks complex from some of the photos - like you will need to tie yourself up similar to what a Moby wrap requires, but I found this to be pretty much as easy to put on as the K'tan - however, the fabric feels tighter and more sturdy than the K'tan, but also, consequently, a bit heavier. I found it to be less prone to extreme stretching. There are helpful images/directions on the carrier so that you can ensure you are putting things on the appropriate shoulder and placing baby's bum in the correct location. These were actually helpful because the unit was apparently twisted when I first took it out of the box. I placed it on the ground and positioned these little directions (e.g., left should goes here) and I was able to put it on without a hitch.
The big down side to this carrier is the limitation in how you can wear the baby; the baby has to be on the front of the body, which I find to be quite tiring, particularly after a child surpasses 20 lbs. This says you can carry a baby up to 35 lbs; my son is 30 lbs and I put him in this; the positioning on the legs was good, but oh my goodness the strain on my body was incredible.
Ultimately, for someone who is expecting a new baby, this would be a good carrier to have; it is easy to place baby correctly, the fabric seems breathable (I tested this in a midwest winter, so summer sweat wasn't really a thing), and doesn't stretch to the point of requiring regular washings to take it back to its correct size (although it can be washed and mine washed without an issue), and for little ones, the front carry is not too big of a burden on the body.
I like many things about this unit. For little babies, I think this would be just as good as a K'tan. For babies approaching 15-20 lbs where stretch becomes a concern, this would likely be the unit I would then turn to since the fabric is a bit more sturdy. I probably would turn to an Ergo for when baby hits 6 or so months for back carry purposes, which I find to be more comfortable for particular weight thresholds.
My daughter was born small at 4lbs and 12oz so I waited until she was 8lbs to purchase this carrier and I can honestly say it changed my life!
My daughter has colic and gas and only wanted to be held by me all day. I was very limited to what I was able to do around the house and it was hard to soothe her.
As soon as I got this carrier I was able to carry her around and dance with her to soothe her. Sometimes I would even be able to get her to burp in the carrier because the pressure from my stomach and her stomach would help her burp.
She falls asleep in the carrier and it’s awesome!
I think it reminds her of the movement of being in the womb. I really recommend this carrier to anyone and everyone who is looking for an efficient carrier.
The price was a small amount to pay for the sanity I have gained back. No joke this product is a lifesaver.
