It’s the early 1870s, from the Rocky Mountains to northern Mexico a couple of drifters manage to discover their true purpose in life in this hard-hitting western adventure!

A pair of nomadic cowboys are ‘asked’ to leave Deadwood and travel south to what they think would be gold country. Along the way, the two vagabonds manage to get in trouble, help others, cause trouble, and find the gold they set out for.

Their adventures are rollicking fun some of the time, incredibly dangerous often, and they are able to maintain their dignity most of the time. One might call them searchers…always looking for something, not knowing what that something is.

I’ve had a wonderful and varied time along this bumpy highway called life. I spent my early years in Santa Cruz, California, swimming, fishing, and wallowing in the splendor of redwoods, the Monterey Bay, and a loving family. Then, my four years of high school were spent living on the Island of Guam. That was back in the early 1950s Yes, Virginia, I am that old, but only in body, not spirit.

My first job in radio was in 1958. I bought the Virginia City Legend newspaper in that old western mining community in 1971, and retired from having a job in 2010. That’s when I changed from being a reporter of news to being a writer of fiction, and over these last few years have found my western and crime/mystery stories published as novels and in magazines and anthologies, around the world.

My beautiful wife Patty and I live on a small hobby farm about twenty miles north of Reno, Nevada, sharing space with a couple of fine horses, a flock of egg-producing chickens, and some breeding rabbits. You’re always welcome to visit. I need help cleaning those corrals.

Extremely great reading for a beginning series as the Author leaves nothing out, and the story only intensifies with each new encounter of Snake and Dog Man! A little comedy mixed in definitely intensifies the ongoing excursions as they quickly develops into something more than the normal shootem up bang bang westerns!

Certainly five stars worthy, as Snake and Dog Man, along with their adversaries, pull no punches when it comes to justice and injustice. Easy reading pleasure from cover to cover, and the good guys don't always get away unscathed! These two dedicated friends seems to know what was other are thinking throughout the entire story!
Outstanding storylines throughout the entire series of unending exciting adventures, and the Author's outstanding character selections were unsurpassed in their ongoing actions from beginning to end! Can't say I have read any better first book of a series, as these two guys, Snake and Dog Man, certainly will appease anyone's desired expectations in a non-stop series of outstanding western adventures!
Most definitely recommend this superbly written series of unending adventures, as these two compadres pulls no punches in their quest to fulfill each and every exciting adventure they are faced with! Even you non-western fanatics will definitely find yourselves completely mesmerized by these two very heartwarming cowboys of realistic old American western folklore adventures! I assure you will find yourselves completely engrossed within the first few pages of this compassionately, yet compelling, masterpiece!!!😃

I really liked the first half of this book, story line is interesting, and more light-hearted than that of most Westerns. Then I began to be totally distracted by the number of times the words "chuckled" and "chuckle" appear, especially in the second half of the book. I found myself scanning through the prose just looking for the next occurrence of the word, more so than concentrating on the plot. The word "laughed" was also in high rotation. Just something the author and/or proofreader may want to be aware of. But please keep writing!
