OK! Here we go; If you're in the market for a page turning, rip-roaring, coherent spaghetti Western set in intergalactic space, you just found it!!! Think a young Clint Eastwood riding into town on his burro looking for trouble and you're in. Pleasant to read, good plot line and strong characters. Just don't expect hard science, cause it's not there. But then, its not there for Star Trek nor Star Wars either! They both fun and so is this. Time well spent.

The beginning was really cool and fun. The ending was really cool and fun.

It's a refreshing change to read a sci-fi book on amazon that's not ate up in typos. (My grammar isn't great but if i had a book for sale, I'd want to ensure it didn't have 20 - 30 major typos).

Anywho, I don't think I caught a single typo. That tells me this author takes real pride in his work.
Any author that takes that much pride in their grammar also takes that much pride in the ACTUAL STORY.

This story gets a lot of things right on my checklist.
I like characters to have enough internal dialogue to really feel like they're a person. Check.
It should be easy to see the hero's main goal fairly early in the story. Check.
There should not be whole chapters that don't directly contribute to the plot line. Check.
There should be a few things in the story that don't make sense until the last few chapters. Check
There should be a plot twist or two. Check.
There should be some grand revelation at the end of the story where the character gets something they didn't even know they wanted. Check.

I like the hero in this story. He started out cynical and calloused but ended up being a closer to a normal person by the end.

My favorite book series is Omega Force. I compare all books I read to that series. Most sci-fi books I read are disappointingly far below that bar. This one closer to that bar than average.

I'll probably read the second book in this series. Especially since it hints at ancient alien tech. That's always fun.

As a fan of Mr. Scott’s writing, I’ve read and enjoyed about 15 of his books, and have never been disappointed. The stories are always well-planned, with strong characters, lots of action and vivid descriptions which make me feel like I’m immersed in a movie.

This is an exciting start to what promises to be another great series. Cade Korbin has a checkered past, from which he chose a path to pursue and take down bad guys under contract, but he follows his own code. He’s not a Boy Scout, but rather, an outlaw with a soft spot in his heart (or in his head?), which leads to some interesting tight situations. This story has non-stop action, with several twists that leave you wondering what is true and who you can trust. How can Cade succeed despite long odds against him? The ending is a surprise I didn’t see coming. This tale is tied up nicely without a cliff-hanger, and leaves several options open for continuing stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I received an ARC – this review is my honest opinion. I purchased a copy on release to support this great writer. Do yourself a favor and read this book – you will enjoy it!

Jasper t Scott - has been one of my go to authors..(cause it was cheap) and I usually read the 99cent books that I can find about artificial intelligence, yet there's not mush out there, so I end Up with authors I already know Like Jasper..
I did a few edit's for him back in the day....(Yet it's to much like work,,sending the typos and other mistakes..back and forth...))
Anyway I took the chance and payed the four bucks-(for me thats Expensive))...And this first book in the Corbin chronicles, Was REALYY GREAT,, It was a real page turner...and Quite full of interesting ideas...I LOVED it....
So take the chance and read this first book in the corbin series....You will love it too,,rest asured...it's going to keep you on your toes....Up at night,,,and happy to keep turning pages...

Lots of twists and turns!

Great read! Cade may be an assassin for hire but he does have his personal code to follow, which costs him financially when he rescues someone in trouble with slavers. But he follows through on his instincts. Those instincts get him in trouble with wildlife on a planet he is stranded on... he take on this animal as a pet... assuming the creature is male, only to find out this 'female' is pregnant. The mission he accepts becomes very complicated. Usually working alone, he is forced to work with another on a mission that is related. (Did I mention complex?). The mission uncovers a previously unknown daughter who happens to be in the same business. The master manipulator turns out to have hired the original two assassins... but I may be revealing too much. Get the book, it will keep you engrossed!

The main charter reminds me of Takeshi Kovacs from Altered Carbon.
I like Jasper Scott's writing style. This book seems different to be in that Jasper spends more time on the twists and turn of the charters and plot and little of the Sci-Fi. The Sci-Fi is in the background
Worth the investment to read.

First person narrative. Bounty hunter with two golden rules. Has a weak spot for sweet young women being taken advantage of. Gets into trouble with the big boss of Terra Nova, but has to do some rescuing first. Spends money as if he's found the end of the rainbow. Keeps finding himself in incredibly impossible situations, but somehow gets out of it. Find friends with resources in strange places. Blows things up, and finds old ghosts. So the final question is whether he's going to remain a loner or team up with this young girl he saved. I think a couple of books might survive, but eventually this sort of story is going to get boring.

I threw the book at the wall and stopped reading after what the protagonist does in chapter 40. The protagonist was a little hard to take up to this point anyway. The author is trying to combine the hard-boiled detective archetype with the former special forces operative with a good heart character, a-la Steve Dallas from The Fifth Element. The combination doesn’t work and ends up reading like a copy of Martha Wells’ Murderbot except he’s more humans and a complete a-hole. I gave up comic books years ago and the plot is about as believable as one. Nice try but you’re no Lee Child and that Jack Reacher character-type has been done so many times it’s a cliche.

Cade Corbin is a bad ass and has a few hidden well hidden secrets, a sort of anti hero everyone loves, but with revenge on his mind, and determination, you wouldn't want to cross him.. move over DOG, there is a new bounty hunter in town... The book rolls along at a great pace, not breakneck, thats never good, but fast enough you dont get time to wonder about what is coming next or why Jasper decided this or that, and concludes at exactly the right spot with a twist that in all honesty is not entirely unexpected if not a little frustrating. leaving you like all good serials' wanting to find out more. Read this book and you may just have the your next go to bad ass hero to follow, a sort of Buck Rodgers meets Mad Max lol

I'll start by saying that I'm a huge fan of Jasper's writing. So few authors show his degree of versatility, his books range across all sorts of sub-genres and styles and I've always enjoyed them immensely. This new series is a great mystery/adventure, with plenty of action and an adorable critter thrown in for good measure. It was one of those books where I genuinely couldn't see where the plot was going next - full of surprises and twists, and gripping stuff from start to finish. I've got the next one queued up on my Kindle and hope to find time to get through it before book three drops! The baby's just going to have to wait for her bottle... ;)

I’m not quite 100% on board, the pet critter seemed a bit pointless and the twist was visible from 100 paces.

Kade Corbin is not just a bounty hunter, he's a murderer and not in the least likeable. Because the book is written in the first person singular there's the automatic tendency to identify with the character. but while he's supposedly very clever - of course he is as he's the one speaking - his actions are only clever with hindsight, because it's his story. I found the plot more and more stupid so skimmed most pages towards the end. I'm sorry I even bothered as the plot became even more stupid.
