Get into juicing with this no nonsense dual Speed juice fountain cold. Ideal for first time juicers, this juicer runs on 850 watts and has two Speeds, 13,000RPM or 6,500RPM, for hard and soft ingredients. Fruit is largely composed of water, but its selling point is its nutritional value. How do you extract the juice from fruit, without leaving the nutrients behind? Breville's Nutria Disc and patented juicing system extract more nutrients than other juicers and transfers less than 1.8F of heat to protect enzymes and maximize nutrient absorption of select nutrients. The uniquely designed juicing system features a feed chute that is centered over the shredding disc. This allows for more efficient juicing than systems that introduce ingredients on the side of the shredding disc. The dual Speed, 850 watt motor allows you to juice hard fruits and vegetables like apples and beets on high Speed at 13,000 RPM, while the low Speed (6,500rpm) is optimal for softer fruits and leafy Green vegetables like cantaloupe and spinach. The Juice Fountain Plus cutting disc is so powerful that pineapple can be juiced in large chunks with the rind on. In addition, this juicer features an extra wide 3 inch feeder chute that accommodates large chunks or entire pieces of fruit or vegetables, eliminating the need for chopping vegetables. The BJE430SIL is not only easy to use, but also easy to clean. It is pulp ejecting and comes with a large capacity pulp collector and most parts can be cleaned on the top shelf of the dishwasher.

I wanted to make sure that it wasn't a matter of user error, so I tried different sizes and shapes for the fruits and veges I would feed into the chute. I noticed on my first few runs, that inserting smaller pieces would inevitably result in them shooting almost immediately, partially chewed, into the waste bucket. I then start leaving them larger and larger, so they would have direct pressure from the plunger, almost holding them in place against the blade. I would still wind up with pretty large pieces of fruit or vegetable in the basket. I also tried using carrots, celery, apples, cucumbers, beets, cactus fruit, lettuce, kale, cabbage, collard greens, etc. Large portions of my input would just wind up in the waste basket. The pieces that did caught in the blade would consistently end up really wet and in the basket.
The last two times I used the juicer, I squeezed the pulp in a cheesecloth and was able to get a considerable amount of juice out of it. I have included a picture of the last juice output. In an attempt to fill the pitcher, I juiced enough fruits and vegetables to get the pitcher approximately 75 percent full. I then dug into the basket and started squeezing the waste. I was able to squeeze an additional 2 cups of juice out of the pulp. I have included a picture of the juice level in the pitcher and what would have been thrown away had I not gone back for the second squeeze.
I called Breville to see if they had any advice. Their customer service never answered the phone. I placed four phone calls. For two of those calls, I waited on hold for a representative that never answered. For the other two calls, I took the option of getting a call back. I left my phone number and never got a return call.
I had an old centrifugal juicer some years back. I got rid of it because it was too loud and it would shake while it was spinning. It made me feel like it was going to explode or tear my countertop apart.
I soon after bought a masticating juicer. The juice that it produced was great. The pulp was always dry, BUT I hated cutting the pieces up into little bite sized morsels. It felt like such a waste of time.
I moved over to this Breville because I wanted to be able to throw giant pieces into the chute to save time and energy. Truth of the matter is, the time you save not cutting up vegetables, gets spend squeezing out pulp. If you don't squeeze out your pulp with this thing then you are basically throwing money away every time you make a juice. Juicing is already kindof expensive as it is. To know that you are getting maybe 60 percent usage of your produce is too unnerving for me to deal with.
I went back to my masticating juicer.
Don't hesitate. Been using it every single day since I got it. It's just awesome.
One side note, put a plastic bag in the disposal container to cut back on the cleaning time. You're welcome!
Here are two life hacks:
Some consumers commented on the foam you get when making orange juice. I always peel oranges before extracting juice. Just use a knife to peel/cut away most of the orange and white skin around the fruit and you will get juice that is much smoother and less bitter. You know oranges are waxed and sprayed and otherwise treated to increase shelf life. If I'm peeling carrots, why wouldn't I peel oranges? It only adds about one minute to my prep time and it makes a huge difference in taste and texture.
If you are worried about extracting juice from carrots, because they stain: squeeze an orange or apple into your carrot juice. It adds flavor, tang, a little bite, and it will clean the blades and strainer of carrot stuff. Then wash all parts immediately, instead of throwing into dishwasher. Use your regular dish brush on everything.
If you are considering cost: a 10-oz ounce of freshly squeezed juice anywhere will cost $8-10. Do the math.
Hope it lasts.
After reading tons of reviews, I finally decided to go with the Breville Cold Fountain and it was well worth the money. So simple to use and clean up is a breeze. Definitely nothing like what I've heard abojt juicers.
The trick is to clean the juicer as soon as you're done juicing and to use the included brush on the mesh filter!

Like the easy to clean and light
Dislike the waiste of product most of the juice remain in the pulp , today I decided to strain the pulp and oh surprise I got more much more .,,
Ex. With my old jack l’ lane power juice I used to get 16 oz for one bunch of celery ( by the way it broke after more than ten years)
With the Breville I gets only 12 oz from one bunch of celery plus 2 green apples , as I see the pulp so juice today I decided to strain it and ohhh surprise I got 16 oz just of the pulp itself 😲all this time I was dumping juice !!!! That is why today I decided to write a comment .
"I was formerly using the Norwalk juicer which does everything it's supposed to do - extract the most juice possible while minimizing oxidization in the two-step process. HOWEVER, I needed to set aside a good hour to juice. So... juicing rarely got done. Not to mention how cost-prohibitive this top of the line machine is.
My beautiful new Breville Juice Fountain Cold on the other hand... my veggies go from being rinsed to pressed in under 10 minutes! One step juicing is going to save my life. I no longer need additional time to get it done. This juicer is easy to use, easy to clean up and inexpensive. I LOVESSSS IT! xxo! Yes, I kissed and hugged my juicer."
UPDATE.. early December this juicer just stopped. no power, no juicing it just stopped. I thought maybe it had come unplugged but no. Only lasted 6 months and we are not hard on stuff. took very good care of it. Contacted Breville and they are sending a new upgraded version, Really disappointed in the machine but the Breville rep was great. update.. we thought they were sending an updated version but when it arrived it was the exact same model.
UPDATE # 2 well my replacement juicer only lasted 9 months. The first one the on off switch came loose and now the arm that clicks in place has come loose at the connection to the machine. The company has offered me another one. (must be the same model they say) Maybe third time is a charm? I must send it back and they will ship me a new one. What a pain so I will be without one again for several weeks. I am happy that they are trying to make this right but these are for sure not their best made machines. Neither has even lasted even through the one year warranty period. While we do use it often (every other day) I not overzealous or hard on appliances. This is just not up to Breville's usual standards.
Mainly juicing carrots, oranges, beets, celeries, gingers. I have to say this machine has contributed well in my diet.
the machine is very safe to use and has a lot of safety features. you really need to be an idiot to put your hand inside the tiny chute
There are two speeds in this machine which I thought would be fantastic if I want to juice leafy vegetables. both speed actually just the same, fast, and FASTER. so this is not a machine to use if you want to get juice out of kale. quite disappointed in this speed setting.
I do have to say the machine produced quite a lot of pulp, and these pulp can still be pressed to get more juice out of it.
couple days ago I was trying to use the machine and for some reason the steel mesh starts to grind onto the plastic juice collector. not sure if this is a design flaw or if this is wear and tear after less than a year of use.
I understand that parts can be ordered directly from Breville but this is disappointing that within less than a year I might have to start getting parts.
so this is certainly a mixed bag of review.
I would return this product but then I’d have to pay so much money to ship it back. So I’ll be reselling it used instead.
0 stars in my opinion. This was a birthday present to myself and all it did was give me a headache and very little juice. Absolute garbage.
