Skirmishes against the MDS occur with a mixture of results and Rev and Punch uncover more overwatch, but is it Union, marines or other entities....
Things are building to something big about to happen.....
The characters are beautifully developed, while not the same names, I have served with many of the Marines created, probably from memory, in this series!
When it comes to Tomiko, Rev is as dumb as a stump, but the waiting just adds to the story!
On to the next book!
But then, Science Fiction writers are exposed to that reality as well. No wonder it carries over into their books.
Politics has no place in war. Yet here we are again.
Politics messes up as much as it helps. But from a Marine point of view it can be deadly. This book has all the politics & actions taken in support of those policies & shows what it does to those warriors in Home Guard for CoH. Cause & effect; it can change lives.
Pick up this book!
Feels like all the interesting storylines with the centaurs, new weapons systems, etc were left out and we are left with waiting for missions as a repeating topic. That might be realistic, but it sure is boring.

Much more about the people rather than the politics. Politics still plays a part, just less so.
