Maximus Compass is a vampire without direction. Without heart. And without soul. He lost his true mate in the great battle against the dragon king, and now must face life alone.
And yet … something is happening to his agony. It’s fading away, leaving him with barely a memory of the female he believed to be his one and only.
As his mind clears he starts to wonder if the mate bond had been nothing more than a manufactured ploy? This suspicion explodes within him right around the time he runs back into a certain wolf shifter.
Mischa Lebron is a complication he doesn’t need in his life. He can’t erase her from his mind though, and while memories of his supposed true mate continue to fade into mere shadows, his one night with Mischa is blazingly strong. But they’re not of the same supernatural race, so there’s no way for a true bond to exist between them.
Right?
When an old threat rips apart their pack, Maximus will come to realize that he would do anything to save Mischa. That the mate he thought was perfect and precious was nothing on the shifter he walked away from. Now Maximus truly has everything to lose.
Note from author: Broken Compass is a spinoff set within the Supernatural Prison World. Told in dual POVs from Maximus Compass and Mischa Lebron. This is full length and standalone with a HEA. You do not need to read the Supernatural Prison trilogy first.

First, this book can be read as a stand alone. There is enough detail from the previous events that you won't have an issue understanding what's going on. That being said, but why? WHY? The series this spins off from is totally worth the time to devour it first.
On to this book. I think what I loved best about this book was the dual point of view. The first three books were totally from Jessa point of view. This book goes back and forth between Max and Mischa. That was a big change and I think it was brilliant. I enjoyed it just that little bit more that brought it to a 5 star book for me.
I love this world that Jaymin Eve has created. I love how it is a mix of all the supernatural races all trying to get along. I love that there are power hungry sups that make that world a mess just like happens in our world. When a paranormal world parallels the real world, it becomes very very interesting. This world does that.
I have already fallen for these characters from the precious books but I would really love Max even if I'd just met him in this book. He experienced something that is truly horrible. I felt for him. I cried with him. And I wanted to hold him. He beats himself up a lot in this book. It's his protective side that failed to see and protect that he's upset about. I love him for it even though I forgave him.
I love how Mischa comes into her own personality in this book. During the first three books, I wasn't sure I even liked her. She seemed weak and made some pretty bad mistakes. But in this book we get caught up on what was going through her head and how those things went down. It's always better to have the whole story. And strong? There girl is seriously strong. Her sister has nothing on this girl.
Of course, I still love Braxton and Jess, the other boys and Luis. Jonathon did some redeeming in my eyes and I finally get Mischa's mom. Yeah, I didn't like her much but I get her now. That's one thing that makes these characters real. They do make bad choices at time but when you stand in their shoes you get perspective, you see their why. Then it makes sense. An important lesson for anyone.
As for the story? Loved it. Something I've finally noticed about this author is her ability to resolve the couple problem before and away from the actual climax of the story. I really don't like books that make you wait till the bitter end of book for the couple to figure things out and then it ends. I like to see the couple together, being a couple. And I like it even more when they work together to resolve this problems they both face. That's what this author is a master at doing. Again I am reminded of JLA books. And if you know me? That's some very high praise right there.
Really you need to read this whole series and this spin off. Anyone who enjoys a good paranormal romance needs to gets these in their library and then move them to the top of the TBR list!
Holy cow! Jaymin Eve has done it again! I have to start by saying that Jaymin Eve is one of the few authors that I one-click their books without even looking at the blurb. No matter what it says I know that I will love anything she writes. Who am I kidding, I would read her grocery lists if she’d let me. This book has everything that you could want in a book; heart break, love, action, fighting, Louis, self discovery, Louis. All of the important things that exist in this world. :)
If you read the Supernatural Prison trilogy then Broken Compass will pick up shortly after where book 3 left us with a slightly bruised and broken pack. This book is the start of the healing and rebuilding process for our favorite quads and the rest of the family. If only things were ever easy.
Eve has a way of writing that draws you in to the center of each and every character. Even the smallest of side characters can draw your attention with a look or a cryptic message. You never know when the author will bring back a seemingly small player to run the game. The writing flows beautifully with no glaring technical mistakes that I saw.
You don’t have to have read the previous trilogy to understand this book, it can very much be read on it’s own. Just be warned that once you do I guarantee you immediately one-click the previous three books.
Overall, I loved the way this story panned out, and can hardly wait for the next installment of this series. I love the Compass quads and the whole family. I cannot wait to see who is next.
All in all, I give this book a well earned 5 out of 5!
Happy reading!

Broken Compass is Mischa & Max's story, Max is the vampire in the quads (Brax's brother) and Mischa is Jessa's sister and a wolf shifter. At the end of Dragon Mated, Max's mate Cardia was killed and we discovered that Mischa was pregnant with Max's child. I know shocker huh! Max left town before Mischa had a chance to tell him as he needed to clear his head. Now we all know from any paranormal story that losing your mate is enough to turn you insane, if it doesn't kill you first. Your mate is the other half to your heart, your yin to your yang, your world, your soul and your one & only true love. There was one big question through most of the first three Supernatural Prison series for me. Is Cardia really the true mate of Max? Well you'll just have to read the book and see.
Mischa was a character that I had some ambivalent feelings towards. She's Jessa's sister, but for most of her life she never knew she was a shifter as she was living in the human world and she never even knew she had a twin. Now in Dragon Mystics, Mischa did some pretty stupid stuff, however in Dragon Marked I think we got to see a better side of her and maybe some more explanation into why. In Broken Compass we learn why Mischa acted the way she did and yes, the reason totally makes me forgive her for that. Also as this book is written in dual POV's from both Max & Mischa, which I totally love by the way and there should be more books written like this, we learn what makes Mischa tick, without her being overshadowed by the kickass and snort out loud thoughts of Jessa to divert our attention. Mischa is just as strong and stubborn as Jessa, but in different ways. Jaymin has done very well to write a character that can live up to the awesome (in my eyes) Jessa and lead a story and make us laugh in the way that Jaymin's characters are well known for doing. I warmed to Mischa so much in this book that she's now one of my favourite characters.
Jaymin has written another heart stopping, edge of your seat, unputadownable, don't dare interrupt me or you may get hit, book here. The action and story had me on a knife edge most of the way through the book and whilst we still had the laugh out loud comments, we also had some more serious moments too and ones that had me catching my breath as to what would happen next. I really didn't think that Jaymin could top any of her previous books, but I think she may have gone and done it. I gulped this book down in one sitting and didn't stop to do anything, that's how much I loved it.
If you're already a fan of Jaymin Eve then what are you waiting for, read this book already! If you've not read any books by Jaymin Eve yet then what are you waiting for, read them now! Trust me, you won't regret it, in fact I expect you'll thank me for introducing you to them ;) This is one of those books that you won't regret reading and that you'll want to pick up every year to read again.
Now to impatiently await for Jaymin's next book, which I'm hoping will be Louis story as I need to know what happens with him next please.

Compass Brothers:
Braxton-Dragon Shifter
Maximus-Vampire
Jacob- Fey
Tyson-Magic
(Jaymin Eve will be doing a book on each of the Compass Brothers and Louis also)
Spoilers:
In the last book of supernatural prison it was a battle of the Dragon King who was defeated but many died, including Maximus's true mate 'Cardia'. We find out from Mischa that she is pregnant with Maximus's baby and hasn't told him yet as he is going through the loss of his true mate and then he leaves Stanford to cope with the agony of his loss.
The beginning of the this book, Mischa is a couple months pregnant along with Jessa who is pregnant with twins. Maximus is on his way returning to his pack. At first meeting (Maximus-"Who do I need to kill? Whose baby is this Mischa? Who dared to touch you?" Mischa-"I'm over four months pregnant. The baby is yours."
Immediately after Maximus is protective over Mischa and is guilty over leaving her by herself and pushing her away from him and Mischa is unsure whether or not to trust Maximus with her anymore but knows he will be a good father to their child.
Their are people out to get them in this book but as always the Compass Brothers protect their own and save the day. Their our doubts that Maximus has over his true mate 'Cardia' whether or not she even was his true mate and feelings coming out towards Mischa that has Maximus all confused as well as Mischa herself.
This book is a absolute need to read book if you love 'The Compass Brothers' and 'Lebron Twins'.
I can't wait to read the rest of the stories on the Tyson and Jacob and even Louis.
I hope Jaymin Eve writes books on the babies when their older and their true mates. I'm sure they have special and exciting futures ahead of them.
100/10 book ! Loved it ! Read now!

The broken compass is about one of the 4 Compass quadruplets (that won the genetic lottery Braxon a dragon shifter, Tyson the mage, Jacob the fae and Maximus the vampire who this book is about)
Heartache Max lost his vampire mate before the start of this book and was dealing with the grief and loss of his other half (tho not everything as it seems) finally returns home to his brothers and Braxons pregnant with twins soul mate Jessa to find out before the battle to save the world as we know it got Jessa's twin sister Misha pregnant (woops) and this story Broken Compass is about Misha and Maximus finding themselves thrown together with an undeniable attraction and what follows suit.
This book is full of love, passion, turmoil, adventure, and hormones. Not something to be missed
