1.0 out of 5 starsBrother printers are junk

I quickly ran through the starter ink cartridges that came with the printer. Even though the ones that came with the printer still had ink in them, the printer was refusing to print. I looked up on line that you can fake the printer out by placing some black tape over the clear window of the ink cartridge so did that to try to use all of the ink. Eventually, I had to buy new cartridges and I was OK with that and the shenanigans I had to play to get the last of the ink out of the old ones. I replaced my cartridges with the new ones and didn't use the printer for about 2 months. When I come back to print something, the printer says it won't print because it is out of ink!!!! I look at the cartridges and they have almost all run dry. I didn't even use the new cartridges, just had them sitting in the printer! What a POS! I will never buy another ink jet printer. I thought this nonsense had stopped in the 90s, but I guess not. I probably will never buy another Brother printer either. What jerks?! Between the cartridges saying they are out of ink when they clearly are not, to ink just evaporating from the cartridge, to the nonsense with firmware updates that check to make sure you are buying "authentic" Brother cartridges. They can keep their printers and ink. It wasn't even a very good printer.
