About the Author
Bill Martin Jr, an elementary-school principal, teacher, writer, and poet, held a doctoral degree in early childhood education. His many books, among them the bestselling classics Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?; Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?; Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?; and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, are a testament to his ability to speak directly to children.
Eric Carle was born in the United States, but spent his early years in Stuttgart, Germany. His many innovative books have earned him a place in the canon of classic children's literature. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? was the first book he illustrated; he then went on to write and illustrate The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Busy Spider, and The Very Quiet Cricket, as well as many other books for children. Mr. Carle works in a studio near his home in western Massachusetts

For starters, it just flows. Most other baby books are so scattered. You’ll somehow memorize this book after 2-3 times you’ve read it.
Minimal text! And it keeps the same pattern of words but changing the animals out.
It’s colorful!! Big animals on the pages and nothing else.
It’s small and compact and a board book so no papercuts. Plus the quality of this book is nice and thick and holding up nicely after excessive use.
Go ahead and get Polar Bear, Polar Bear, and Panda Bear, Panda Bear while you’re at it.
I’d pay more than we paid for this book- it’s a staplepiece to a babies library.
I highly recommend this book and even buy it as gifts for new moms! It is a classic for every nursery.
Also, I want to note that I dont get sick of reading it over and over...

They make excellent choice for children under age 2.
My toddler loves this book, if it gets picked up by her we end up reading many a times.
The constant repitition makes it more rhythmic for the young ears.
Very small children enjoy repitition in everything be it any kind of work..they would want to do it again n again and
Brown 🐻 bear, uses repitition in every page.
What do you see?
I see a red bird
Looking at me.
What do you see?
I see a yellow duck
Looking at me
So this goes on
Each two pages has one big bold colourful artwork of animals.
Introduction to some animals and birds and some colours.
I've read this book over and over. The upbeat rhythm prevents it from ever getting monotonous - even after 6 months.
I can even recite this book to my son without looking at the book. Just keep to the rhythm and make up the animals... I see a purple duck, yellow zebra and so on.
I highly recommend this book for parents of newborns. Your child will eventually recognise this book from the way it's read.
The old saying, "don't judge a book by its cover", is very true here.
