Let me tell you why my 6 month old son(and we his parents) love this book so much.
For starters, it just flows. Most other baby books are so scattered. You’ll somehow memorize this book after 2-3 times you’ve read it.
Minimal text! And it keeps the same pattern of words but changing the animals out.
It’s colorful!! Big animals on the pages and nothing else.
It’s small and compact and a board book so no papercuts. Plus the quality of this book is nice and thick and holding up nicely after excessive use.
Go ahead and get Polar Bear, Polar Bear, and Panda Bear, Panda Bear while you’re at it.
I’d pay more than we paid for this book- it’s a staplepiece to a babies library.

This is one of our favorite books. We have printed out pictures of each of the animals in the book, laminated them, and then hide them in my 3 year old's bedroom with a removable tacky putty. I move them around as she remembers where they are, but as we read the book, I ask her to find the animals. I also made her binoculars by putting colored paper around two toilet paper rolls that I hot glued together and attached a string at one end to go around her neck, when monitored. She loves it and it makes the book and story that much more enjoyable. The hard board book is very durable and great!

We already had this book for my toddler. It was the first book she could read and so it will always be special. I thought the lift-the-tab version would be great for my one year old. So was disappointed when I realised it wasn't a lift-the-tab book at all. It's a lift-the-page over book!!!!. A missed opportunity, this book would work really well as a proper lift-the-flap book.

This book has been almost a daily read for my baby. From infant until now at 15 months my baby has loved this book and already able to say most of the words. This book is interactive(theres a slide-and-read version as well), rhythmic, it expresses shapes, colors, you can introduce the names of the animals, & the sounds the animals make. My baby sings "brown bear brown bear" whenever he sees the book on the shelf or around the house.

This book exceeded my expectations, I bought it for my 10 month old. I thought it was a "lift the flap" book, because I missed read the description, which clearly states "flip the tab" my bad.... so I was super surprised when I received it, but not in a bad way, you can open the book from any tab, that way, if the child wants to see a specific animal, he's able to just go to it... that said, my almost 4 year old had a crisis when he saw me put this book with his brothers book, he loved it so much he wanted it for himself.... so we had to compromise.
with this I tell you that this book is awesome for babies and for young kids as well
It is sturdy and well made, the pictures are great, and the text is the traditional "brown bear, brown bear, what do you see? I see a bird looking at me" and so on.
highly recommend this book for any children's library

Despite this book being a classic, I wasn't sure my toddler would actually like this because of its illustrations. But I was wrong...he loves this book! Great book for teaching basic animals and practicing animal sounds together.

This wonderful book with colorful pictures will make a reader out of most children. You read the book with the child a couple of times. Next thing you know the child is reading the book. In the back are some basic comprehension exercises. These tasks assure you that your child can read and does not have the book memorized. Instead the child knows the names of the individual words.

I bought this a week ago and my daughter already brings this over to me each day to read. She’s almost 15 months old and sometimes she does not pay attention to story time with other books. With this she’s interested and engaged. Also, sometimes when I read it, she starts dancing because the wording is so rhythmic. Also I love she can learn her animals and colors. She already starts pointing and naming some of the animals in the book. I enjoy reading this to her and it gives me nostalgia lol. One of the first books I remember reading as a child was ‘Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?’

A classic! I read this to my children a generation ago and now it’s available in a board version for my little granddaughter. The rhythmic pattern of this book, and its mention of various animals and colours, is ideal for pre-speakers and tight through to early readers

Best book for 2-3yr olds.

Lovely quality book. Rigid card pages but a soft padding on the front cover. Beautiful bright coloured pictures. Clear large print text inside. My 2year old loves the story so much and sits there reciting it pretending that she's reading to us. One of the best things I've ever bought my little girl and she has every book and toy under the sun!

Perfect for newborns

The rhythm of this book makes it a pleasure to read to my son.
I've read this book over and over. The upbeat rhythm prevents it from ever getting monotonous - even after 6 months.
I can even recite this book to my son without looking at the book. Just keep to the rhythm and make up the animals... I see a purple duck, yellow zebra and so on.
I highly recommend this book for parents of newborns. Your child will eventually recognise this book from the way it's read.

I first read this book to my children when they were under five they are now in their thirties and mid twenties. I have also read it to my first granddaughter when she was a little girl and I bought this book for my second granddaughter who is 4 years old. We all love this book, it teaches children rhyming, colours and the different animals. I gave it four stars because I would have preferred if the book was available as a board books.

One of the best book I have ever purchased for my daughter. It is so memorable that she can pretend reading it. Babies/toddlers will learn animals, colours and how to use the adjective. It's so enjoyable and fun, my daughter loves it.
