In season two of BULL, Dr. Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly) and his team at Trial Analysis Corp. take on exciting new cases, including a trophy wife (guest star Minka Kelly) who may or may not have killed her billionaire husband in self-defense and a young man who is being tried for murder for helping his terminally ill girlfriend end her life.
When Bull joins the district attorney in a case against Kara Clayton (Minka Kelly), who claims she killed her billionaire husband in self-defense, tensions run high when he learns that his on-again, off-again romantic interest, Diana Lindsay (Jill Flint), is defending the widow.
Bull impulsively agrees to have Benny represent Adam Harris (Sam Vartholomeos), a young man charged with murder for helping his terminally ill girlfriend end her life, a decision which clashes with Benny's religious beliefs.
The DA's office asks Bull to assist them in their prosecution of a fraternity when a pledge accidentally drowns during a hazing incident, but his efforts may be derailed when the students close ranks to stonewall him.
Bull travels to a small town on a personal mission to help his high school sweetheart, Allison (Ali Marsh), sue a local factory that she believes is making residents ill by contaminating the water.
Bull is asked to help a teachers union represent a woman who is being prosecuted by the DA for helping an impoverished student pass an important test, but who may be the scapegoat for a larger cheating scandal.
Bull agrees to help the parents of a former employee sue a drug company when their son commits suicide during a drug trial. However, the task is complicated when the company brings in their own trial scientist, Arti Cander. Archie Panjabi guest stars.
As Thanksgiving approaches, Bull releases his team to enjoy the holiday with their families, only to find himself working a case solo when he agrees to help a boxer who is being tried for murder.
As Christmas approaches, Bull is amused when he meets a 9-year-old girl (Annabelle Wachtel) who wants to hire him to help her divorce her parents, but he's shocked when a judge appoints him her temporary guardian.
Bull takes a psychologist friend, Dr. Donovan Benanti (C.J. Wilson), as a client when the therapist is sued for malpractice following a patient’s deadly rampage.
A widow hires Bull to help represent her when the police decide that she is the most likely suspect in orchestrating her wealthy husband's death, making it look like a home invasion gone wrong.
The DA hires Bull to help convict Hazel Diaz (Roma Maffia), an infamous drug dealer who murdered a police officer but has managed to avoid jail for years on an insanity defense by feigning schizophrenia.
Bull seizes upon the opportunity to get a new trial for an old client when doubt is cast upon evidence that helped convict him of murder 9 years earlier.
Bull agrees to help Chunk's daughter, Anna (Jazzy Wiliams), when her journalism professor, Chloe (Nikki M. James), is sued by a dating app developer for trying to steal data for an exposé she's writing about sexual assault cover-ups.
Bull helps Jim Grayson (Nathan Darrow), a respectable family man who was arrested for changing his identity after being the unwitting getaway driver in a fatal robbery years ago.
A friend from Bull's past enlists his services to help convince a jury that a domestic abuse survivor who shot her husband in his sleep is not guilty of murder because she feared for her life and the life of her unborn child.
Bull’s team worries that they’re in over their heads when they take on the seemingly unwinnable case of Elliott Miles (Frank De Julio), a mute man facing the death penalty if he’s found guilty of murder and arson.
Bull's team is rocked when their client, Elliott Miles, is found guilty of murder, and they must regroup as the trial enters the penalty phase in order to prevent him from being sentenced to death.

Season 2 very disappoointing~
Verified purchase
This season of Bull pales in comparison to the first. In both, the storyline jumped around and different themes were not examined. Such as love interests. Where did they all go in season 2? They just disappeared? And when was he married to Benny's sister? Why did his alcoholism go untreated and he just went cold turkey? I personally know that that is not how it works. I love this cast and look forward to the show each week. I just think the screenwriters are phoning this in and believe that they are so talented they will get a 3rd season based on their work alone. The cast is excellent, but they are not being given the attention they deserve. Maybe more character development? I was interested in Marissa going to therapy. That should definitely be continued and given more attention.
I feel like this season just jumped all over the map and was extremely poorly written and thought out. I feel badly for this great cast if they are no renewed for a 3rd year. Although being produced by Dr. Phil will most definitely carry some clout and that might push them through.
I do like Michael Weatherly showing some real acting talent. At first I thought that his character on NCIS would be define his career. We see here that it didn't.. He was able to shapeshift=physically and mentally in order to properly do the Dr. Bull role. He is doing an excellent job but is not given the scripts and storylines he is capable of delivering.
More exploration, more continuous storylines, giving the cast the chance to do what they are absolutely capable of.

My new favorite show!
Verified purchase
My new favorite show. S1 was great and the DVD extras were fun to watch, especially the gag reel. But half way through S2 and it's even better than the first season. Sharper, more cohesive and the characters are getting fleshed out well. Interesting storylines and likeable engaging cast. The guest stars have all been top rate and the storylines well written. It just gets better...

I can hardly wait for the next episode! These are so worthwhile, and so far, every episode!

The season is still in progress as I write this, but I have enjoyed every episode so far. I find this season to be just as good as Season 1, which I thought was great! All of the characters are interesting and I want to see more of them all. I especially like the way the characters' stories are moved along with the issue of the week, and I also like that giant difficult controversial current issues are tackled each week. Thanks and keep up the good work everyone who is a part of this. I can hardly wait for the next episode!

I like it that the writers of the show aren't trying ...

This is a clean, well-written show about justice being done, and focuses equally on prosecuting the guilty and defending the innocent, something you don't get often on other crime shows. I find each case to be unique and unpredictable as to what new evidence TAC will bring to light. Also, I like it that the writers of the show aren't trying to turn it into a soap opera full of office romance and intrigue. It feels realistic.

As the episodes pile up I find the writing only getting better as well

Big fan of Tony Dinozo from NCIS so I was bummed out when he left but figured I could get my "fix" from Bull. Although not the same character there are some similar mannerisms and sense of humor. After a few episodes the NCIS connection faded and Bull became his own character for me. As the episodes pile up I find the writing only getting better as well.

Fair.

I'd rate it as fair. The first season was a little better. But, the show hasn't panned out to what I was hoping for.
As I mentioned to someone else: "I think the reason the overall character development is lacking is because it is based on the "Dr. Phil" gentleman. You can only do so much with what you have to work with."

This show touches on today's unique controversial events going on in society and done in a very classy way. And Michael W. is the most handsome TV actor, sad he left NCIS, but so glad to see him using his talents on this mind provoking show.

Fresh new take on courtrooms and the law!!!

I love this program! Not just another law firm drama. And they care whether the person is guilty of not. Fresh ideas, great characters and enjoying not having to face continual bedroom scenes like so many prime time soap operas!!!
