About the author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

Possibly the best reading a young person can have , full of wholesome home life, good friends, and while there are bad guys and girls, they always get their just rewards without deaths, sexual assaults, and mayhem. I first read Nancy Drew mysteries when I was 8years old, I am now 72 and am reading them all again. They are still fun, entertaining, and educational to read. I recommend them to anyone who would like to have fun reading, and does not know what a ROADSTER is,or was.
Carefully plotted and deftly written, the "Bungalow Mystery" finds Nancy coming to the aid of a new friend who has rescued her during a storm on the lake near her summer camp. There is the trademark Carolyn Keene blend of exciting situations and Nancy's remarkable resourcefulness. I recommend all the Nancy
Drew yarns to the girls of my piano studio. Wholesome and winsome, Nancy has aged well, and continues to delight young readers.
