Shallow and stereotyped

Good premise for a book, survival following a mysterious EMP pulse. However, character development is very shallow and stereotyped, robbing the story of its potential. Women are sex objects and children are whiny and incapable. Hero is likeable but mysterious, very little background on him given in first book, just clues. Book one is very short, more like a novella.

Good read but too "wordy" in some areas.
The main character, Bunker, is always the Johnny on the spot whether it's a damsel in distress or saving folks from a foreign invading power.
With those hints in mind I can say o enjoyed reading this series.
But as mentioned above, the author uses FAR too many words that add nothing to the overall story or set the scene for an upcoming event, which is why I could only give Four out of Five Stars. It was just too irritating and I found myself skipping MANY paragraphs and even two or three pages when I scanned for germaine subject matter.
But, overall, I can recommend this book to you.

page turning story with excellent suspense, redemption, love interests, precocious children, many subplots to match the multiple villains and so forth. getting to Colorado within a day of a paralyzing EMP is unexplained for two villains, but otherwise holds together surprisingly well. I do not believe paying $9.98 for the next two books is worth knowing how it ends. The last 20% of the e books are teasers for the authors other books. Look forward to getting those on sale.

Bunker is an action-filled, multi-suspense series, with more twists and turns than your average Reacher rollercoaster. Like the series "24", just when you think nothing more can happen, Jay pulls out more stops and you find yourself going along for the ride, like a passenger in an Indy 500 pace car. And, just like Allstate, you're in good hands on this one. I have also read "Bunker 4" and can't wait for the conclusion of the series later this year!

Quit reading this review and order the series already!
