Great Companion to The Devil You Know!

This book is a companion book to The Devil You Know. This book is written from the perspective of the Witches’ Record Keeper, Natalia. A natural beauty, Natalia is excited about her new position, her amazing new apartment in Venice, and her new love, Lucas Tremayne. Natalia and Lucas are in love and their relationship is young and developing nicely! Natalia has just finished arranging the books to her liking in the beautiful library in her apartment. She has lost track of time and is going to get ready for her date with Lucas in a couple of hour. There is a knock on her door. She opens the door to find a very unpleasant man who “requires something from her.” Despite her efforts to get the man to leave, he enters into her apartment. Natalia is held captive and additional horror ensues. The man is a demon…a full-blood demon, who is going through each and every book in her library to find the list of guardians. These guardians are kept confidential and kept safe, as they guard the Claustrom Stone that can open the portal to the realm in which demons dwell to allow them to enter our realm. He is unrelenting in his search, stopping only to continue his torture of Natalia. Once the demon has what he is looking for, he kills Natalia and goes in search of the guardians. This event is the one that starts the story in The Devil You Know. This is a wonderful companion book, as Natalia is such a lovely character. She is one that you hope would’ve had a larger role…but even though short, Natalia is a character to love!

Lucas is your typical playboy vampire living in Venice. Loving the ladies is a hard job, but someone has to do it, right? All that changes on the day that he meets Natalia. Have you ever met that one person that knocks your world off kilter? Lucas has and the love that he feels for her is breathtaking.

Natalia is a records keeper for a coven and it is a job that she absolutely loves. After spending time and getting to know Lucas, she realizes that she is right where she wants to be. I am excited to see where this series goes and I would love to see more of Lucas. That being said, I can't help but feel that Michael is going to be a seriously badass character. Let's hope I am right and he is in the series somewhere!

This was a quick little book used as a jump start to the Demon Legacy series. And what a jump it was! This jump start was like using a semi-truck to jump start my chocolate warmer. There was a lot of stuff packed into this little series opener. There was a witch and a vampire falling in love, a demon out to steal something from the witch even if he has to kill her to get it, and two brothers who must come to terms with their differences.

I knew it was a short story when I started but I was so not ready for it to end just like that. I went looking for the next in the series, The Devil You Know, but it isn't out yet. Waaaaaaaaa

I will be watching for the next one with chocolate bated breath!

Although this is a short novella I think it's a great start to a new series. This is a new to me author I enjoyed the writing style and the story managed to draw me in, in a very short amount of time.

Lucas is an interesting character whom I look forward to finding out more about. The villain in the story is definitely someone I wouldn't want to meet. I liked that there are vampires, demons, and witches all included in this the only problem is that this definitely should have been longer!

I actually had trouble deciding how to rate this book initially because I thought giving four stars to a new author was too generous. Then I realized that if I hadn't know this was a new author that is exactly the review I would have given. First of all let me say that thought I am an avid reader I have never been a fan of "urban fantasy" but I may have just become one. This short story was very well written with a great story line and interesting characters. Looking forward to reading"the devil you know"

This was a great short story. I've never read this series before and after reading this prequel I really want to read the rest of this series.
It was very romantically tragic. And my heart broke while I read it. I love books that are able to make me feel as if I'm a part of the character world.
I wish I got to know the character Natalie better but other than that I really loved this story. I can't wait to read the next book to see how Lucas gets his revenge.

This prequel served its purpose with me because I'm definitely hooked! Although it was a short story, the love between Natalia and Lucas is deeply felt. With the perfect setting, great story line, and wonderful characters, I can't wait to see what happens next!

I think it started off a little rough but shows promise for the series. I think the main point of the story was to demonstrate the depth of Lucas' feelings for Natalia as motivation for what I'm guessing will be a quest for revenge.

If you want a quick scare and a little heartache, this is a good bet. I'm not sure whether this is a must read for the series. It's a prequel and I have not yet read any others in the series.
