Burning Her Resolve: San Diego Social Scene Book 6 Kindle Edition
Getting involved with Ryan Kennedy almost guaranteed her face would be plastered all over Page Six. She couldn’t afford to be in the gossip section again. Not now. There was too much at stake.
Grace had things to do—finishing med school and keeping her nose clean for her upcoming residency match, to name a few—and she wasn’t going to let anything or anyone derail her this time.
No matter how broad his shoulders were. Or how perfectly styled his messy hair was.
Or what his sexy grin did to her insides.
It wasn’t fair. No man should be allowed to be that gorgeous.
Certainly not the sexy firefighter who she was supposed to be keeping at bay.
Women’s eggs dropped at the sight of him. But not hers. Nope.
But the sexy firefighter seemed determined to burn her resolve to the ground.
And staying away was starting to feel like an impossibility...

Ryan and Grace realized they had so much in common, so in his mind he thought this would be so easy however Grace had been caught up in a gossip scandal years prior that impacted her whole prominent family that she was afraid she would again be scandalized and accused of wrecking his engagement.
Ryan a Fire Captain, is liked by all and Grace is in her last semester of medical school and has no idea where she will do her 4 years of residency. There is so much chemistry between them that neither really wants to let go. Their friends see this and try to help out by throwing them together all the time. She's given Ryan a time frame of when she thinks it might be ok to date. Will being around each other change that? Can they just be friends? Will they be caught together?
An event happens. Can they make it through it?
I enjoyed Ryan and Grace's story and loved their best friends, Maddie and Craig and how far they go to "help" their friends. Can't wait to hear about Sloan!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review of this book. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could!

I found Grace just too irritating, for someone who is supposedly a trainee doctor she acted very immaturely.
Also, timings were off, they had a weekend together for Thanksgiving but then Grace was in a coma for three months and then they had Christmas together?
I think it's because while I liked the main male character Grace was irritating. Grace was a pretty annoying female. And he worshipped her which I personally don't think she deserved. It was a long repetitive kinda narration. Guy falls in love at first sight, girl doesn't want him, guy loves girl even more, girl decided she loves him but is scared to be with him even though she claims to love him. Guy has basically lost his man card chasing her while girl ignores him, then girl gets in an accident and guy goes crazy. And then girl realizes how much he cares and that she really does love him. Wooooooooowwwwe sounds like my kid sister wrote it. Their relationship was mostly based on lust (which i usually don't mind
but when you're expecting more from a book the sex scene shouldn't be the best part in every chapter) and not any kinda emotion until like 65 percent of the book.
They said I love you before they started really dating. Now Maddie and Craig are cute. Honestly it could all be that way this author writes. Either way I found it pretty easy to put this book down and hard to continue reading.
So slow it's not funny. The story felt like it wasn't going anywhere. Got bored and was already skimming sections. Not for me.
