SPOILER ALERT: I really liked the story line: Mom had cancer, had to get a mastectomy, Dad can't make love to her anymore because he can't overcome her disfigurement. As a lonely housewife she finds love in the arms of another married man. The two fall deeply in love but can't leave their spouses and children. Two of said children are teens - a girl from hers and a boy from his. The teen girls catches on that Mom is having a fling and thinks she'll end it by setting fire to their getaway love nest. She does so while their inside thinking they'll run out before anything bad happens, but her plan goes awry and the place blows up too fast with the lovers inside. The teen girl is unbelievably distraught as her plan was never to really harm them. She never tells anyone she did this and carries her guilt for the next 12 years. But before she gets on with her life the teen girl and the teen boy connect and fall in love themselves. Both families are against them for obvious reasons. Teen girl can't stand that she could be happy at the expense of the death of her mother and his father at her hands, and after giving birth to a daughter leaves 2 days afterward, moves to the US and starts a successful business. All the while she can never forget what transpired, cannot forget her daughter and the boy, and lives a life of self destruction beyond work. Teen boy grown into a man, gets hurt at work and send a pal to find now grown teen girl - woman in the US. She reluctantly goes to Mexico but only reluctantly because she knows she must face her pain and abandoned daughter who she doesn't feel she deserves, and heal the relationships she abandoned in order to be able to feel anything in this life except pain. This story line plays out in a series of present and past scenes - not chonilogically, which actually makes it interesting to watch and figure out.
What bothered me is that they used 4 actors for 2 people - the two teens where played by 2 actors and the same characters were played by 2 different people in the story line only 12 years or so later in the story. They could have easily aged 2 actors 12 years. They didn't really resemble each other either, but the acting was superb by all 4 none the less.
Another part I didn't like was that I anticipated the two main characters talking it out at the end and they only give you a glimmer that they are about to do that, and they only let you imagine that they made up instead. I was waiting the whole movie for the reconciliation part and it never came.
All in all a good movie.
